Ex Police HQ

So the police vehicles that were strategically parked outside the shell of the bollarded off old police HQ have now been removed.

The site is obviously no longer being maintained and the lower front windows have been boarded up, what an absolute eyesore! Any idea how long before they start building on the site?

Cars disappeared on Thursday evening. Place does look a right mess. Mind you, it probably won't be much better when they've built the new houses (whenever that is).

The sale hasn't gone through yet. Its only going to get worse as the looters get stuck in. Unfortunately due to the building being broken in to the windows have been boarded up. Its a shame.

I'm confident the South Stafford Wheels & Dealers, Big Wigs & High-flyers, Plitico's & Mafioso. will sort it out! :cops::scouse::strange::rich::eng101::pig:

Has it been broken into? They have only boarded up the front windows and the training block hasn't been done at all. A tractor was cutting the grass this morning though which eases my anger a little.

Just driven past and they are boarding up the training block windows now.

I can't imagine it will be long before the pikeys move in. Prime location for them I'd have thought.

This isnt exactly related to this thread but does involve police cars - I'm sure admin will move it if there is a more suitable thread.
There has been a police car parked on Young avenue for well over a week now. I'm puzzled - surely if you are a police officer you don't take your car home with you?
Also what do the police do with police cars they no longer use? I had thought originally that maybe someone had brought an ex police car but I'm pretty sure even if they do sell them on to the general public it wouldn't be without removing the lights and police markings?

The cars are used by all the different shifts therefore in use 24hrs per day unless in for maintenance. Perhaps the car you have seen has been parked there for deterrent purposes?

There are specialists dealers and auctions for ex-police cars (once they have had their decals peeled off and lights removed.

You could be right about the deterrent purposes - I'm quite surprised it still has its' wheels intact ;)
Thanks for answering my question - I had assumed that must be the case.

Its common practice for the old vehicles that are going out of service to be placed in strategic locations until they are decommissioned. It works better when they do it in locations like the Shire Horse car park than it does on a residential street though. I'd imagine the police car you are talking about is probably a 2005/2006 (think they keep the commercial vehicles even longer).
