There is a wonderful woman in Penkridge. Her name is Angela Reeves. She looks after the dogs in her own home and takes them out on the Chase every day. Believe it or not, I used to drive to Worcester to leave my dogs in the only place I felt confident that they would be happy and OK. Now I leave them with her and I don't worry. She has them when we go on holiday and also, occasionally, when I have to go out for a full day. She has huuuge dogs herself and is also a dog trainer. If dogs are with her on the requisite evenings, they go along with her to the training club and get made a fuss of. The company name is K9 Training and the website is www.dogtrainingstafford.co.uk

I know its not the most helpful but just a heads up, I would not recommend the Swan Pit dog and cattery.

My auntie’s dog cut its paw in their care, it got infected and he was limping, they didnt do anything about it then refused to pay for any vet treatment or to cover the insurance excess, even though they were responsible.

I live quite close to Swan Pit. And I took my dogs to Worcester. When we were flying from Manchester.
To be honest I'd probably be doing that still, to the profound irritation of my husband, if the owners of that particular place hadn't retired and moved abroad. Fortunately I found Angie and have been able to stop worrying.

sorry I have only just read your replies, thanks for the info I will look in to the K9 training website and it sound quite good.
Have you ever been to there training classes or do you just use the home boarding service?

Hi, I've never been to the classes, but the dogs have! Angie takes them along with her when they are home boarding. I'm not sure if they actually do anything constructive or simply soak-up the attention as visitors. For training classes, ours went through Benefit Dog Training - used to be in Haughton, now at Colwich (on a Weds night, I think) and Highfields (Monday night).

A few months ago there was someone on here advertising dog sitting in either your or their home. Ive seen the one above but this isnt the one...their website is down anyway.
Can anyone reccomend a dog sitter who is willing to take my dog for couple of weeks and how much they charge

Hi Roy welcome to you and your dog! As per previously in this thread, I thoroughly recommend Angie of K9 in Penkridge. She only takes one or two dogs, they live with her in the house, get to watch old black and white films and go romping on Cannock Chase.

There are very few people I would trust with my dogs (really just my husband, one friend and my stepdaughter) and she is brilliant. I dont worry about them when I am away and when I collect the dogs they are calm and happy, ready to slot straight back into their normal routine.

Before I found Angie I left them once somewhere a lot more expensive, that seemed fine when I visited beforehand. When I picked them up one of the dogs was really anxious. For a couple of weeks afterwards she was behaving really oddly, being excessively clingy, aggressive and even wearing in the house. She had nightmares so bad that I had to sit up with her. I thought I'd never get her back to normal.

Angie has always had GSDs and would probably love to meet yours.
