Half way through an uncut tiger loaf bought from Asda in Stafford only to find whoever made it had cleared their throat of a greeny which is still moist in the middle on it . Feckin last time i buy anything from their bakery again.

It would have had to be a fairly chewy one to survive the kneading process..?

Its not the first time i found foreigners in bread, had a loaf from what was safeways in rugeley with a piece of string in it and a loaf from the Spar in the 1980s with flies baked into the crust of it.

It's more likely the sesame paste they paint on the top has somehow got inside. It does look a bit slimy.

Best thing to do of course is return it...

If sesame paste looks like and has the consistancy of a big bogey then i suppose it could. Its definatley going back alright

I think they close at 10 pm. Shouldn't you get a move on? I presume that you have taken all the usual pics for the papers?
Maybe they can do some DNA testing on the Bakery staff.

I think BBM is being quite phlegmatic about it..

Coughing Up Green Phlegm

This happens when there is a bacterial infection in the lungs or the bronchi, such as Tuberculosis. It can also happen because of a post nasal drip due to a sinus infection. It can be cured by avoiding dairy products, starchy foods and excessive meat intake. Drinking plenty of pure water and herbal teas, eating spicy foods and taking hot bath can work as effective home treatments.

Gosh, that's awful. :barf: Bought loads of Asda own baked bread and cobs myself on Wednesday. Good job I've just eaten my bacon ciabbatta before reading this.

I came across a firm yet wet & sticky patch in a loaf of standard bread once. Someone assured me it was some kind of yeast mass and ate it to prove it.
My dad once also found a slice of bread with a huge cockroach baked into it. he photographed it and sent a severe letter of complaint to the bakery concerned, and as far as I can remember there was a short but sweet "sorry about that" letter. No offer of free bread for a year or anything else to keep him quiet even. (not that he would have wanted any of their bread again in a hurry even if it was free)

I really really hope it's a soggy yeast mass.

I adore Asda bread. Have been especially adoring their olive bread.

I would be gutted to find that they have a rogue disgruntled employee who finds it acceptable to cough into the bread....

Actually, just thinking about it, they really should wear a mask when baking.

I once worked in a bakery where they used the bread crumbs from the bread slicer for the Bread Pudding. As I was slicing it up for the counter one time I found a plastic glove inside. God knows what else went into them...... certainly stopped me scoffing it from then on !
