Vodafone - Is it me or is there no service bottom end of High Street?

My wife and I cannot seem to get a Vodafone signal from midway down the High Street to beyond the Picture house and The Sun Inn, nor near Tesco's. This seems to have been going on for the last 6-8 weeks. Popped into the Vodafone shop and was told by Stuart there that both Orange and Vodafone have no 3G service as one of the masts is down, and was told to switch my phone to 2G !! Another lady in front of me was complaining about the same thing. Rang Vodafone who deny any knowledge of this, and say everything is as it should be. Anyone else getting problems or is it just the 3 of us?

I'm on T-mobile (EE) and am lately having a hell of a job getting a signal everywhere. Son is on the same network and his smartphone works fine.
According to Virgin (who piggy back off the EE network) when they tried to get me to change to them, it depends on whether you have 2G, 3G, 4G as to whether the signal is good or not. Don't know whether that is correct but I was going to try Vodafone next time....................

(And the bloke in the EE shop was a complete waste of space with his "This is an Orange shop and we can't look into T-mobile queries, so ring customer services" Funny, the sign on the old T-mobile shop said they had moved into that EE shop! )

I'm on vodafone and the reception in town is really bad so I agree with you RR - any idea how you switch to 2G on an iphone?

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
Settings / General / Mobile Data / switch Enable 3G to "OFF".

It's a Vodafone issue that's been ongoing since 15th July- I haven't had signal in my home since then and as I am with Talkmobile (who piggy back the Vodafone signal) my complaints have been going nowhere. Apparently I can't have a refund until the issue is fully resolved.

I've been lurking on the Vodafone forums to try to get some answers but nothing is forthcoming- and the 'advice' to switch to 2G not only doesn't work, it's pathetic.

Calls are continually dropping out at the moment on the island and around by Toyota. Couldn't make a call today until I got to Radford Bank.

Phone showed "no service" for most of the day in town today. Went to he tvodafone shop who changed my SIM and also advised 2g settings at the moment as there is a further problem with a mast on the Wolverhampton Road - it has been reported by them. Let's hope it's finally sorted soon.....

I have managed to get a one month credit from them. Ask to speak to Jenny Houghton in customer services who is aware of this issue. It still wasn't working on Sunday when I was last down town. Pretty awful service from a company claiming to have the best network and advertising 4G readiness, when they cannot even get 2G working

I've just switched from Orange (EE) to just EE and I'm having all sorts of problems trying to get a signal.

I have to walk half way up our road to get a good EE signal lately . When I do get one at home it tends to drop out mid-call :grr: Used to be great for years when it was just T-mobile.

I'd appreciate it if someone could shout when the Vodafone signals are back working to full strength please. Apparently my smart meter isn't working as British gas use the Vodafone network to send their data over and they say I've got no signal in my house . (Would have thought they'd have checked that before pestering me to have one installed!). I've got to let them know if Vodafone improves in the area

well after 2 months we've finally had a reply from the techs as to why we are experiencing issues in the ST16 and ST17 post codes:

Re: ST16 - Stafford
Hi all,

There’s a problem with our network in this postcode which we’re trying to fix. We know where the problem is, and our engineers are trying to get in the site where our equipment is to fix it.

We're unable to do this at the moment, due to a protected species of bird nesting there. We’ll update this thread when we know more.

Thanks

Wayne"
Looks like the mighty Phoenix has risen again!

Worst excuse ever. This problem has been ongoing since July and they've only just discovered the nesting bird now- after the end of nesting season?!

Huh, the website isn't saying it's fixed but a friend of mine just received a picture message I tried to send her five days ago...
