BT works out a bit more than talk talk it would appear, plus an installation fee for the package I want :(

I may just cut the wiring so it needs redoing regardless.

dont know about around here, but my brother in law was with talktalk and had nothing but hassle. even coming away from them was a nightmare.
BT infinity was doing connection for free when i signed up, i knew the line was cr@p so i was pleased to get replaced for nothing.
ok i may pay a bit more per month but speeds have been great and stable.
im very near to the area where the bootsales are held, pm me if you are near this area too and want to check out my connection before you decide who to go with.

PM you? He could shout at you..

I'm with TalkTalk, mostly for the international call package that they keep trying to con me out of. It's not the best broadband, but it's good enough for me - a lot of other people might not think so, though...

My OH is with Talktalk, and her BB is crap. But to be fair her BB was crap with sky too, I suspect its the wiring in her street. Unfortunately I don't know anyone in my street other than Virgin customers, so no idea on my actual speeds.

Hmm, that doesn't bode well. TBH if Talk Talk miss just the one appointment I'll be cancelling them, or at least billing them for my time if they want to keep me as a customer.

Just realised it's a new line, so it will still be BT that come out I guess? But then it's talk talk who set up the router so I dunno!

Regardless, I'm paid roughly £100 a day before tax so shall ask for an account credit of that for each day they mess me about. I'm fine taking one day off, but no more. I'll still be on Virgin for another 2 weeks so plenty of bargaining room, they keep calling up to beg me to stay so could always just see how far I can push them.

Are you having talk talk fibre then don't be surprised if its BT openreach who install it.

BT Openreach would install i reckon.
worth pointing out that BT openreach isnt connected to any isp inclucing BT infinity.
there has been talk of openreach engineers not turning up and to be honest was something i was worried about when i ordered.
i was fine and they did show but had read on the BT forums of many no-shows that day also.

BT Openreach install ALL non cable connections. The missed appointments is a problem across all Communications Providers and wont be resolved by going to any particular provider. We get missed appointments for installs and faults every week with our clients.

Yep third missed install. Cancelled. Emailed complaint. Made customer care log complaint. Wrote to customer care. If no reasonable reply then Ofcom.

I had an appointment booked between 13:00 and 18:00 today, got told half an hour ago they'd already been and done it! Good job someone was in all day really, as my original plan was to take half a day off.

EDIT: New line run into the living room where I wanted it too, although he had to put the socket about 3 feet off the floor due to some BS H&S shite about old people not being able to bend down far enough.
