Looking to get my chimney swept. Have checked all the chimney sweeping associations and cannot find Sooty or his company - 'All your chimney needs Ltd' as a member of any of them.............................. !!!!!!!!!!!

I found a chimney sweep 'association' or something similar based in Stone and used one from there - Stone based chappie I think

He was a young lad - about 7 foot tall and very very clean and tidy

I have his card somewhere - I think its in the same place I have 500 pesatas and 25000 Lira

Wish I had kept that sofa

Sooty (Nick Paine from All Your Chimney Needs Ltd) has been removed by HETAS from their list of approved installers and sweeps.

If you have had problems with an installation, suffered financial loss, paid for incompleted work or been the victim of inappropriate behaviour then contact Staffordshire Trading Standards (08454040506) and HETAS CEO (Bruce Allen 01242682048) directly to make a complaint.

To be frank, the way that the Chimney Sweeps have presented themselves on this forum leads me to believe that non of them can be trusted.

If ever I need one, I'll makes sure that they're not one of the ones that have posted on here.

Some of these threads have certainly blackened the image of sweeps.

Glasgow had the ice cream wars, Stafford has the sweep skirmishes.

What IS it with chimneys that causes so much hot air?

Dick van Dyke seemed quite amiable. Although with that accent, I suppose he could have been muttering about HETAS and maligning competitors without any of us realising.
