Are they harmful?

1. No, not at all

Just the fact that they can bite scares me even more , I only thought house spiders could bite before reading the link. Can't beleive the uks biggest spiders is 14cm !!! Think I would actually die if I saw one !

I'm probably not helping with the irrational fear of spiders ....sorry!

Shhhhhh, I havent seen one in about a week (touch wood). The last one ran straight at me, the other is hiding under the dryer.Fear of spiders is not irrational.

At the end of summer I tried to accostomise myself to the three that were living by the back door (CBT stylee), I got to the point where I thought I could touch one....the sodding thing turned round (as quick as lightning) & tried to bite me! No more spider fondling for me...

Try one of these http://www.primrose.co.uk/advanced-...ce=googleads&gclid=CNittJ_ekMACFW-WtAoddCUA_g we have a couple of similar models and very rarely see any spiders in our house, they also seem to stop ants spreading around the house.

Just be careful if you have any small mammals

We've got one of these - and I've just had to remove a rather large spider. We've had the device for about 2 weeks now and this is the first spider though...but it was right next to it!

My OH also "heard" that they don't like Conkers, so we've got them systemically placed around the house. Todays spider was sat next to one.

I'm rather dubious that these things work...

Scientifically misproven by school kids across the country in science class. In fact if memory serves in one instance they were using one as a bridge to facilitate faster travel.

I've heard conkers are good - bit disappointed they don't work!
I've been busy making sure my new house is a 'sealed unit' no spiders in - no-one gets out!
Loft hatch fortified - hole in wall duck taped!
Only giant hole in Lroom wall to go!

I was just in the kitchen and a massive spider just ran across work surface .

there was 2 massivee spiders were down beside sink in bathroom the other day , I took my eyes off for just a second and they both came running out in front off me . Looked like they were fighting. Don't even get me started on the amount of smaller spiders iv had to hoover off the ceiling this week alone!
