I think it's probably about right - cost of living is fairly low compared to other places, there's some stuff to do locally - and a mix at that - and getting anywhere more exciting isn't hard to do.

I certainly know many people, especially those with families, are very happy here

As long as they don't have elderly relatives needing social services care

As long as they never injure themselves after dark

As long as they remain employed in what is a public sector dominated town and therefore at risk

As long as they don't supply into a certain local bar restaurant

As long as the M6 remains free flowing

Beats Stoke though

If you're that unhappy here, why don't you move elsewhere? Not having a go at all just don't think Stafford is a bad place to live really.

I think I was really referring to the word happiness

Some people have an unusual way of expressing it visually/physically - about town

I love Stafford because all of my family and my extended family are here. (Only one brother in Scotland) and I have a good job here in Stafford. My kids were educated here and when they were ill they went to the hospital here (I know that parent don’t have that service now.) But we have so much in Stafford that is good. The park is fantastic for kids, always has been even when I was a child. There is more good than bad in Stafford I love living here.

And I love the charity shops and the quaintness of the town ,if I want to shop in town I have the choice of three supermarket plus lidle– soon to be four. When my kids were little we went to the ancient high house- the chase, Shugborough Estate, the park, the art galleries the library the courts Doxy marshes, the castle, the culture is there if you look for it.

I know the big cities have more but that just another day out. Staffordshire has a lot to offer and being the county town we should be proud to live here
