See, technicly, they were right to arrest me for my behaviour. The fact that the only reason I behaved like that was because they took my beer off me, which they may not legaly have been able to do, is where I'm angry. That and refusal to give badge number or name, also no mention of me being allowed to go and get the beer back at a later date (something they MUST do). means in many ways I can probably get her done for a wrongful arrest.

So, er, I voted no! I believe entrapment was used, so was invalid. Still, got her name etc. now so can proceed with my complaint :)

How did they arrest you?

Hollywood style, over a car bonnet
British style, with a batton up your arse

Make an official complaint - there was definitely some dodgy goings on there... They're probably so crap that they can't meet their targets by arresting REAL criminals.

This whole incident is ridiculous. Some messed up yobbo kids kill an innocent chap outside his home and the next day some top copper calls for alcohol to be banned (there was no mention of alcohol in the murder news piece, so where that connection came in it is unclear), later that week someone who is clearly not a yobbo or a kid is seen with a loaded can of beer and gets nicked.

I'd like to know -

Was the officer in question a full-timer or a volunteer?
Was a polite request to put the beer away made?
And, most importantly, can you sue for the emotional hurt of the loss of a fresh can of beer?

Let us not forget, though, that Stafford police are usually considered to be pretty damned good at what must be an impossible job, and the county's Bobbys as a whole pick up awards all the time. So, it is not all bad, is it?

Yes, it was. And I duly surrendered the open can. It was when the unopened cans were taken that I started swearing at her.

That pain will never leave me :(

As I said earlier I have no problem with any of the other cops I've met. Just this one. Been given a number to call today to lodge a complaint, also been told a number of things she did wrong during the arrest, which I intend to bring up.
