We always normally go to FMS, never had a complaint and always do great work at a good price, usually MOT with them as well, this time it was a case of leaving it late and going to ATS. Between the night and the following morning a brake light went on the back of the car and apparently the tracking, done a few weeks back was also off. Bollocks. In addition to a few others.

Tracking isn't part of the MOT (believe me, mine is so, so far from spec that it would never pass an MOT if it were tested). That said, it can go out very quickly if you're unlucky enough to hit a rough patch or potholes, but based on the rest of your experience with this outfit I would be inclined to agree with your assessment of bollocks.

Had a similar experience involving two garages, cant remember the first as it was years ago but the second garage i took it to was FMS. Both garages gave me a list of things that needed doing for it to pass the MOT and not one fault was replicated on the opposite garages list. Who do you trust? The mrs took her citroen to the citroen garage and they filled her with a load of bollox about needing a few filters changing to pass the MOT, i think she ended up paying about £280 in total including the filters and a new wiper blade for the rear screen which cost about £40. She didnt even ring me to say what it needed but instead just paid up. Of course they denied telling her it would fail the MOT without them when i called them. They love it when women come in cus many dont have a clue what car parts are and can easily con them.

This is largely why I do as much work as possible myself... that said I have recently had dealings with FMS and haven't a bad word to say about them from that experience.

Then of course there is @aasilencers, who I would never hesitate to take a car to, top blokes and as honest as the day is long.

They try but they would have to get up earlier than me I can spot a shark a mile away!

Always use Gills Transport at Four Ashes for MOT tests. They don't do servicing or repairs just testing so no self interest in the result. If it fails, go & get the work done on what they say are the faults & get them to retest it.

Cuffy to the Subway in town.... I love the sandwiches but is there any need for their management to take up tables at lunchtime to do their reporting leaving customers with no where to sit???

I believe the county council fleet care also do this from their garage at Beaconside

Cuffy to SCS furniture at The Hough.

After a lengthy chat with a most helpful salesman I agreed to buy a Parker Knoll Sofa which had a large sale notice on it and was offered reduced from £1199 to £499. We agreed that I would arrange collection this coming Wednesday.
He went to fetch his payment terminal but seemed to be having some difficulty with another female member of staff who came over to say that it was the wrong price. Her attitude was indifferent.
I asked to speak to the Manager whose attitude was even worse. When questioned, he said that it could have been me who placed the wrong price card on the sofa!

This shop clearly does not recognise that customers should be treated with consideration and respect.

Even though a shop may advertise something at a certain price, they are under no obligation to sell it to you at that price.

Having said that, you would hope and expect to be treated in a polite and courteous manner.

If it's anything like the one @Goldilox and I worked in there win't be a staff room / office to do any paperwork in - it also means managers can't hide if it's busy (which our boss at Cafe Nero used to do)

I've been into Subway once. The "sub" was tiny, overpriced and tasted horrible. I'll never go in one again.

Well this one was hiding in plain sight....it was very very busy (possibly gaining from the temp closure of McDonalds...)

Sure would!

I intend emailing the CEO of SCS to suggest that his manager and impolite female assistant at The Hough store attend the next John Lewis Customer Service Course.

I have to say Skill to the staff at Cafe Nero. How they manage to remember so many names and what drink everyone likes is beyond me. They always make a good coffee and I have seen them go out of their way on multiple occasions to help older customers, really making an effort to give the personal touch.

A Skill to the pleasant young lad (fair haired one) in Stafford Train Station enquiries/ticket office today. Most helpful finding us the best price tickets to London to suit us , and even checked up on prices departing from Worcester as well . (Unfortunately a hell of a lot higher as not London Midland . Would have been ideal as son lives facing Worcester station and only a couple of minutes out of bed to the platform).

Walked out of the station with the tickets, a tube map , and happy smiley faces.

Yes i find the stafford station staff to be excellent, never any gripes and when the trains do mess up they dont go and hide like in my experience the wolves staff do.
