Seemed to be a bit of a tailback on Baswich lane on the way home. I wasn't in the car so didn't see how far back it went.

Sarchasm :)

It was obviously not clever to block up the unofficial diversion route. Saying that, you don't tend to see "Diversion" signs in Stafford, these traffic jams and closures are totally normalised now. Perhaps there's a sign in Cannock saying "Stafford - Closed".

But yeah, lunchtime traffic isn't that heavy, if they aren't done by 5.30 then Baswich Lane isn't going to be very good. Thankfully I felt well enough to cycle back into work at lunchtime, although I'm pretty sure it's all these roadworks making me ill.

Roadworks.org says 11-12th for these works.
Hubby drove that way just after 4pm-ish and said the traffic at the Baswich Lane roadworks at that time "Was acceptable" Hoping you are right about them only being there 11-12th!

Are the roadworks still down by Aldi tonight? I read in the paper last week that they would be there for a week. Then went on to say 'At least until Monday.' (Didn't say which monday...)

They were earlier, seemed fairly quiet. But most people would be on the way out of Stafford not into it at that time.

Certainly riding the bike back into work tomorrow. Might not be working in Stafford soon if the redundancy meetings don't go my way. While I don't want to drive to another town, it might actually save some time and agro.

Temporary lights outside of the shop to the left of the garage on Gaol road, as its close to the sandon road mini roundabout was backing up a little when I passed first thing.
