...annnnnnd relaaaaaax.

The people's Republic of weeping very cross made me laugh a few weeks ago when they demanded the opening of the co op car park, not the co op, which was also being constructed, just the car park . As if they had a right to park on someone elses land to go shopping elsewhere.

You'd need to reapply for a different company and the process would have to start all over again.

No, premises licences are transferrable. You would have to change the name of the owner and the Designated Premises Supervisor (with a personal licence) but that is largely a rubber stamp job.

No Noah you are wrong. The license is not transferable even for the same site.

The local authority who is the authority will not allow transfer even within a company or organisations. They allow variations such as for the named person I.e. store manager, area manager these can vary from full or part variances and in cases are still chargeable at the same price as a brand new application for a license.

Morrisons cannot simply pass on as their conditions and restrictions are unlikely to match that of another company.

We didn't pay for north walls car park, this is a private investor.

All SBC have done is pay £2million into the whole riverside development which cost £ 43million total and that's excluding the cinema build.

worth noting it would have cost SBC £1.2 million to simply make safe and reopen the old tesco car park in 2009.

think the town have got a good deal

Yes, a transfer of license for persons not company as clearly outlined section 42 of the license act. Www.gov.uk

the transfer of premises license is applicable to a person within a company I.e. within a supermarket or a premises where there is a change of pub landlord or selling business. A transfer could occur if the current occupier own the rateable building (value by which license fee is determined).

morrisons do not own the building so having a license in place has no selling point as they have a lease. Which is run by a third party so any lease conditions have to be agreed with LXB in this case. The fact the top band license is less than 2k is hardly going to put off other companies of similar to morrisons? 2k is nothing. Let alone the length of time to obtain a new license can be done just as quickly depending on council and call ins.

Not a 100% but type class consent of use outlined in the building might effect an outright transfer or could have bearing on its consent.

variances are the changing or additions removals on a current license I.e extended hours.

If you truly believe in supporting tax avoiding businesses like the one that builds the Stafford shopping centre then how do you expect Government to pay for infrastructure, education and health?

Lol, The car park if for public use, so they had every right. There are other businesses in that area also.

Spouting nonsense since the day I learned to talk
If only Jaspers would open!
Jaspers excuses for not opening...

1. We can't source the bakery equipment.
2. There isn't sufficient car parking. We will open when the car park is re-opened.
3. We can't get any staff.

My conclusion: Jaspers don't want to re-open on Bodmin Avenue.

I don't think they can without putting in meters.

on the initial plans morrisons was proposed 2 hours free parking with camera recognition. Do not if this has changed at all.

Do want to go down the route of the iceland car park management.

I would like to see SBC apply some pressure and find out what is going as it is in their interests as well.

Oh ffs.. From a 4 hour stay to two hours with sodding cameras?
Guess I'll carry on parking over at Sainsbury's if that's the case.

*is butthurt about all car park management companies after Tesco messed up when we used the other premises on that site*

My point is, the car park is ready (from my VERY professional observations and having a GCSE in car park management) so open it (will ya?), i ain't saying for free (though that would be awfully kind) but just for the sakes of the business' in close proximity, of this kerfuffle.

It'd get some coins in the little pockets of the owners, no?
Am i missing sunfink?

What was your point about the Weeping Cross crew again? i may have missed it.

Probably haven't received their car park opening permit. Possibly due to waiting for the Health & Safety Inspectorate to review it for any trip hazards and wet floors.

News just in: the Lord Mayor of Stafford was due to officially open the car park this weekend, but the Health & Safety Inspectorate denied them a permit due to the height of red tape that was tied to the entrance ready for the Lord Mayor to cut. Apparently it posed a trip hazard.
