Reviving an old thread , it's that time of year again and I'm in need of conkers... well kids are . Are there any up the castle ? Where are the hotspots? .. preferably not near roads x

There ought to be loads on Junction 14 roundabout......



..good luck getting in and back out.

There's a couple of big and productive trees on the edge of The Rangers
car park and behind the houses on Common Road.

Years ago, my youngest asked if he could go with his mate to Conker Island, yeh says me, thinking it was a name the kids had given to the bit in front of Tillington Hall Hotel. Thought nothing of it. They had been back n forth there for several days, had bags n bags of the things.
I mentioned it to my mate 1 afternoon, while we were waiting for the kids come out of school.
"You do know Conker Island is the roundabout up by Junc 14, Don't you?" Says she.
He was 12, he's now 25, I've never let him out of the house without me since.
