Do you know who can mix music?

I didn't know which section of the forum to put this but someone I know wants the following...

A CD of music is needed which will comprise of a few songs....

however they require that one of the songs is the first few lines only and then merging into another song.

Is there anyone who can do this within a few weeks?

They are happy to pay, it's not a freebie but they just have specific requirements.

I'll ask son as he's got a mixing deck. But he isn't back til late xmas eve (working until 8pm and then we have to get him back from Worcester) , and not sure if he is bringing all his stuff back with him as he will only be here for a few days .

@Carole I'll have a word with him, depends on when he is going back to Worcester after christmas. As well as work shifts, has got his dissitation to get cracking on so was talking about not staying long. I'll let you know :)

Sorry @Carole .....Just messaged him and he doesn't think he would be able to do it.

Hope you are able to find someone who's able to do it for you.

A custom CD of songs is nothing difficult in itself, but the requirement of a mix between 2 songs requires someone more talented to produce it.

There's software that can do this for you, Virtual DJ has an Automix feature and it's a free download for home use. Presumably you can export the result to be burned to CD.

Thank you, it's really kind of you to take the time to post the link.

The problem is, although it might be easy, it's only easy if the person is computer literate. This person isn't, which is why they need help and are happy to pay for that help.

Yes exactly.

The requirement is a few lines from one particular song, merging into another song.

Depending on the two - is there an existing mix out there that exists? Might be worth a search just in case

You can probably achieve the desired effect with video editing software. You can certainly start a piece with (say) some music (with maybe a static photo or titles), fade it out and at the same time, fade the audio from the video back in. And I suspect you could export the final product as just an audio file.

I could probably check the concept, though I've only got a demo version of the software which means I can't edit anything longer than (say) a minute.

Actually thinking about it, the music doesn't need to be mixed.

It's just the first 30 seconds or so of one song, fading out, then another 3 songs after that.

On a CD.
