The notice said "Due to technical difficulties, the restaurant will be closed until further notice" will go down there today to see if it's open

When KFC was up Greyfriars was it ever closed as often?

I remember it being closed on several occasions, yes. Including once because they'd run out of chicken, which was odd as they buy it all in ready made. To have simply run out of chicken would imply every type had gone, in which case I had to wonder why 5 staff were present at 8pm but all doors locked!

They ran out of bread buns there a fortnight ago.
I don't understand how a burger place runs out of meat or bread ... (beyond gross incompetency of management, natch)

What's ready made ? The chicken itself or the finished article ??
I thought the chicken was coated in the restaurant and then cooked ?

I always assumed it came pre-prepared? Certainly you'd think they have a separate supply of thighs, wings, drumsticks, burgers etc? To just say no chicken would only really make sense if they purchased chickens which the staff prepared, and most don't seem qualified to wield a knife.

In the late 80's/early 90's i worked for a company that supplied all of KFC & Wimpys food - it was all pre-prepared, and frozen! No idea now though....

In the late 90s McDonalds only used fresh onion on the quarter pounder, and it all came pre-diced. The rest used a dried mix.

I'll be honest, I'd be shocked if they even sliced the lettuce.

Only been in couple times since it opened and each time service was awful...in fact the last time we walked out as had been there ages and no one was serving. Not been back since.
Wouldn't be surprised if it was environmental health as never looked as clean as it should
