Anyone know a good breakdown recovery service? My daughter's car won't start and it's s on the drive. She doesn't have Homestart. It may be the battery ... speaking as one with absolutely no knowledge of cars!

I am covered for breakdown through insurance, think it's green flag. You obviously need to be a member to use.
I cannot think of anybody local, off the top of my head, who offer an after hours call out service.

If it is battery and car is a manual gear box then you can try a push start. Put in second gear and ignition on, then build up speed and let clutch out.

Some modern cars don't like this though and wont start from a push. Sorry not to be any more help.

check to see if any of your friends/neighbours have cover for any car, or as a passenger, then get a call out

Mansfield Group. They're near the Spittal Brook where Davies Motors used to be.

If you had breakdown cover withe Green Flag or Britannia, chances are these would be the guys they would send out anyway.

Anybody nearby with jump leads? If that starts it, then the battery is down, for whatever reason...
