Cuffy/Skill - Stafford customer service thread - Stafford retailers reports.

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
Cuffy to the 2 members of Britannia/Co-op bank staff I've been promised a call back from today. The second one I spoke to (when I eventually got them to answer the phone after 2 hours of not picking up) promised faithfully "I will ring you back today". She was the member of staff we wasted an hour with on a saturday morning a couple of weeks ago, opening a seemingly none existent account ....

All we wanted to do is open a basic savings account with them, but they don't seem to want our money!
Still waiting for that return phone call, but if that's how they treat people it is too late now, will take our custom elsewhere.
Just go somewhere else. No shortage in town.

Sad, really - the Co-op used to be far and away the best of the banks, but it has been systematically vandalised from within by the sort of people that we have had to become used to in the financial 'industry'.

I've been with Stafford Railway for years and the staff were always pleasant. But lately I've been served by right miserable sods and they have now reduced the amount of cash you can get over the counter, to £250 a day and £2500 with 24 hr notice " You can always pay £10 to transfer electronically , if a cheque won't clear in time. " Errrm...not paying to get at my money!

Cuffy points to the Co-op on Silkmore Lane who overcharged me on 3 of the 10 items I was buying yesterday, then the cashier was so rude and grumpy when I dared to point out the mistakes.

Had I not checked I would’ve been £1.70 poorer. Not a huge amount, but imagine how much extra profit they’d make if every tenth customer was overcharged just £1! Always check your receipts, people! All the supermarkets do this!
I've experienced this at Co-Op's all over the country. It does seem to be pretty consistent.

Cuffy to Mad Hatters Tea Emporium. Selling healthy option breakfasts at a whopping £6.99 each. (Price may have changed now) You get hardly anything (which is why you loose weight) lol they put food in individual containers and actually chopped a tinned tomatoe in half and served half in a bowl..... what does it cost .... 19p for a whole tin. Appreciate they have overheads but ..... seriously .....

But more importantly the sausages were definitely not the promised healthy ones which was confirmed when questioned. (Not good if following a plan that MHTE promise to follow)

Very over inflated prices on all their menu really - don’t bother

Even bigger BIGGER Cuffy to the Co-op bank who STILL haven't got back to me by phone or issued any account details. Isn't my money good enough for them.?

Sat there an hour last month in an office to open an account, took down all the documents they said to, came to open the account we chose "You can't pay by cash, visa, or a bank counter cheque. Got to be your own personal cheque. We can't hold cash here". Couldn't do the paperwork and bring the cheque down later "No , it's got to be another appointment and none on a saturday now until the new year".
So opened a basic savings account for now, which the paperwork said a minimum balance of £1 , and we could open with cash. But she wouldn't have any money off us , despite me pointing out it needed £1 minimum in it. " You can open it with no money, we will send you the account details and then you can pay into it when you want" :strange:

Weeks later...A day of phoning them , One "I'll look into it and ring back in 5 - 10 minutes. Another "Oh yeah, it was me who opened it. I've got the forms here, just need my manager , who is in a meeting at the moment, to sign them . I promise I will get back to you today"

Well here's to you Co-op bank staff :bum::bum:

I'm still absolutely brilliant, even if a little under appreciated.

I continue to 'get over it' on a regular basis.

Bunch of bastards.

Skill to the Amazon Delivery driver who delivered a parcel at 6pm last night (Sunday), in his car, when it wasnt due for delivery till today!
Well done that delivery bloke!
Son has had a message this morning from Amazon that his delivery due today will be 2 days later now because of the conditions, with the delivery date changed to wednesday when I'm picking him up to go on holiday . He gave up trying to get customer services when he was still in a queue after 20mins and had to go to work. Aaaaargh!!

Can't be much fun delivering with the roads the way they are. I would imagine that with the volume of home deliveries going out the weather has caused a massive backlog.

I wouldn't fancy driving around delivering in these conditions either. Son has now been told half his order that should have been delivered today is coming tomorrow and half wednesday ......

I want to give loads of praise to two businesses; King Cod and the Bird in Hand pub.

Last Friday, the wife and I ordered a chip shop tea from king cod. We made the order before we had the heavy snowfall. Had king cod cancelled our delivery we would have completely understood, however to our amazement they still fulfilled the order despite one delivery driver having a car accident a few minutes before. Huge thanks. They went above and beyond what I would have expected.

Secondly, huge praise to Terry, Dee and Sarah at the Bird in Hand. Not only do they serve brilliant beer and great food at very reasonable prices they also offer superb customer service has demonstrated yesterday afternoon.

Yesterday my wife and I and our 1 year old child spent an hour in the pub. I'm always nervous taking my child(ren) into real ale pubs because they are not always welcome, however the staff at the BiH are always really friendly towards us but that's not why I'm writing this post.

Yesterday, the amazing, wonderful, caring staff at the BiH showed compassion, respect and warmth to a homeless man. Unbeknown to me at the time they allowed a homeless man to sit in front of the fire to dry his clothes and warm his body, whilst enjoying a lovely meal and hot drink. I'm sure some pubs would have turned the lovely man away or made him sit in the corner out of way but not them. They were brilliant and the man was so lovely to my little boy. A really nice man that, i suspect, doesnt get treated very well by alot of people. The staff at the bih reminded my wife and I (not that we needed reminding) that everyone whether they are homeless or not deserve to be treated the same as everyone else, especially at Christmas. Truly heart warming.

The bih is now my joint favourite pub, alongside the floodgate and no.7

Big thumbs down to the new Mend Your Motors owners. I rang up Thursday told them the fault only for them to rediagnose the fault and not know what was wrong with car! Needless to say we won't be returning there anytime soon

Plus points for Auto Reclaim, just off derrington lane, they
fixed my daughter up with a battery for her car for £20.
Will they do you, when the pacemaker light comes on?

Some of us will remember when they had the shop opposite Chell's - and the huge, fearsome-looking Alsation, who would actually let you slide him along the counter, if he was in the way..
