The taxi driver taking us home from outside Casa last night was apparently '"not from round here, from Newcastle" and appeared to not even notice the red lights as we sailed through each one. Luckily nothing coming the other way each time , with a big illuminated '49 mph ' for most of the 30mph stretch.

Just think how much a ride like that would cost you at Alton Towers :)

Seriously I've found that rather than complaining about aggressive driving and speed limits, say you don't feel too well and ask the driver to drive a little more carefully they then slow down because they don't want any extra liquids in the back.

You can call taxi drivers the knights of the road, I prefer the nits of the highway. The last time I was a passenger in a taxi I asked the driver to slow down. Unless I have no alternative I avoid taxies. Truly the worst drivers on the road.

This is also the advice they gave us in school if you’re getting a lift from a mate and they’re driving recklessly. In advance of course, given you can’t drive till college

What's with the insistence on not using cycle paths? I end up stuck behind so many cyclists on Weston Road when there's a perfectly good cycle path right next to them.

Few cycle paths are perfectly good, from the point of view of cyclists.

I've just seen a YODEL driver do a 270º turn at the Riverway / Lichfield Road lights, eventually heading off in the direction of Argos/KFC.

Actually, as I didn't see the start of the manoeuvre, it might just have been 180º.

Is it lawful to go completely around a mini roundabout and head back in the direction from whence?
