I took this picture in November 2015. Because of it I was practically thrown out of the Stafford Remembered group for being negative :o

I mean …. ME ? … NEGATIVE ? …. :grr::mystery:

Ah, before both the windows got smashed in. Tbh, if you're gonna abandon a building in town, the least the landlord could have done is pad the windows up.

Anyone know what they’re building on the corner of Riverway and Weston Road?

I assumed flats at first but at this point I’m not entirely sure, I thought usually you don’t build residential developments with steel beams?

Record shop opening in Mill Street tomorrow, called something like Double Good.

Mostly vinyl, but he says he has some CDs, if there's space.

It's where The Bizness was. He has been in the Market for a while, apparently.

I think Harold Parkes' shop was nextdoor, where Golden Cuts is now, and, of course, Lotus Records was across the road.

All the market shops seem to be getting shops in the side streets, I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I mean , it's just shifting the problem and making the indoor market pointless.

any store selling vinyl is a massive plus for me :)

Did he say the range of music he will be selling?
I did have a flick through - what I would call the 'usual stuff', but I suspect it's not the whole selection and he may be open to specific enquiries.

I had a flick through his wares when he was in the market and for me it was what would be considered standard fare. But I was never really going to come upon More of Old Golden Throat by Johnny Cash.

As a radio ham I like nothing better than to listen to clicks, bangs, whistles, weird over the horizon Russian radars and assorted other cosmic noises. :heyhey:

It won't really go anywhere to effect the car park. As I said, the previous design of the car park and its slope exasperated the flooding of the car park, the only run off was meeting a high water table of the marsh. The flooding was made worse by this and had no where else to go except back up the car park as the water rose.

That element has been resolved, the car park is 3 foot higher at the bottom than it was, with grated outlets through out managing an even spread and outflow of surface water. The back up is any high water table from the marsh would now go underneath the car park rather than up it, assisted by 2 newly created water channels. None of the above was part of the prior version of the car park.

The issues seen with alarming regularity over the years will be gone (famous last words lol)

Flooded this morning, great design, eh?
