When I was in the kitchen at work, 1 of the nurses came in and asked for a bacon batch, none of us, apart from the chef, knew what the hell he was on about.
It's like barmcakes, always heard Vera Duckworth go on about them on Corrie, I thought they were like teacakes, but bigger!

2 slices of bread with filling inbetween has always been a 'sandwich' for me..... hubby's mum (and hubby sometimes now, just to drive me mad!) called a sandwich a 'piece' . Hate that just as much a 'sarnie' !!!

When I worked in a bakery, a Welsh batch was a big flat UFO looking loaf of flour covered white bread.

I make hubbys sandwiches all nicely presented and wrapped up good ready for work the next day. Then he comes home , stuffs more items in and slings it back in a right mess in the fridge until the next morning . Then it's slung all falling apart into his lunchbox :roll:
