"I sent you a PM . . ." (Personal Message)

‘Age’d Parent’ - I sent you a PM, please phone me if you want to respond.

(A few times I’ve seen forum members give someone a ‘nudge’ to get them to look at their PMs because, if you’re not expecting one, you may not bother to check. Should we have a thread (i.e. this one!) to give other members a ‘heads up’ if you’ve sent them a PM they might not know is there ?)

On the whole I get an email to say I have a message, and then it shows up there as a notification.

If you go to your Profile - Settings - Contact Details, there is a box, "Receive email when a new conversation message is received", that needs to be ticked for that system to engage. I'm not sure if it would be ticked as a default, though.

What does placing an '@' in front of somebody's cyber moniker enable you to do ? Does it enable you to send a message directly to their email ?
