Even though the sign does say Use Both Lanes, it really should say Use Either Lane.

Using both lanes would involve driving down the middle, with half of your vehicle in each lane - although, this would preclude the merging problem...

I have no doubt a lot of drivers do that.

The bit by Asda is where I always find people are in the wrong lane. Where you enter in the right hand lane and then it splits with middle lane for onto wolv road and so many people enter in the left hand lane and drive straight into the middle lane without realising cars would be coming across from the right.

One of the many reasons I hate driving!

But isn't that because of motorists still driving along there as if the alignment hadn't changed when the lane for ASDA was added ?
