I looked when there were lots of slots left to book and booked in the middle of them the other week at Kingston . Mine was 10.45 and just one other person in there being tested in front of me.

Had a test today at Kingston and it was negative :)

I'll try to pick a quieter time next time but not sure when these are.
I had my 4th test earlier this week, different days but each time around 12 til 2. It’s been fairly quiet each time with very little waiting.
It’s probably getting busier as word gets out about it.

Glad you’ve had it done, not long to wait for the result.
Like you, I was surprised how easy the test was on my first one. I’d seen a few news reports showing tests & they all looked a lot less pleasant than they actually were. It makes it more “appealing” to have regular tests.

Good news.
It’d be interesting if they published how many positive results they picked up. I don’t know anyone that’s had a positive community test.
It would, I know of lots of people that have tested posative, but only through testing as they've been in contact with someone else who tested posative, and not through a community test.

Apparently on the news this morning (I didn't hear it) there are suggestions being made that any company who employs more than 50 people should start lateral flow testing. A step in the right direction.

Yep. I Agree. I'm surprised that ALL businesses dealing with the public don’t have regular LF testing even if only on a voluntary basis. It’d be good PR if nothing else. That’s one reason why I have the tests, I can reassure my customers that I’ve at least been responsible enough to have a test before coming into contact with them. Most tell me they really appreciate this.

A lot of companies are doing lateral flow testing already. I work in construction & we are tested every Monday. Anyone testing positive has to leave straight away & get an NHS test. I was a bit sceptical of the LFT tests to start with however, they seem to work pretty well. First Monday back after Christmas 7 people tested positive across our sites (none had symptoms!) & all were subsequently confirmed via an NHS test. Up to yet I know of only one person who has had a false positive from an LFT test (luckily he was able to get an NHS the same day & was back at work the day after once he was confirmed negative).

It's not the false positives you need to worry about, it's the false negatives.

I agree but I assume those getting LFT would not be getting the PCR test. So any positives they find helps reduce the spread.

Took my mom for her vaccine on Friday @ Holmcroft. It is run very well. Big thank you to all the volunteers braving the cold weather!

If you do get a positive result with the LFT you're then instructed to self isolate & book a PCR test so better all round. I don't think the LFT result goes into the track & trace system (I could be wrong there though).

That's my first COVID jab done and dusted. Was whisked into Westward Ho! Baptist Church on arrival, sat down jabbed and led out. Very smooth and well organised and I was back in the car within minutes. (I got to wondering if that was the first time I'd been in a church since a bloke in a dress chucked water over my head and started calling me names !!! :P )

Westward Ho! is an interesting place. A sort of mini-resort albeit today really cold. I could see what looked like snow flurry clouds far to the north across the bay. Tide was right in so no beach. Round trip was 40 miles.

I'm due back in early May. Hope the weather will be warmer by then.
