Penkridge Medical Practice use a website & app called Patient Access. Does anyone know if the NHS app will work for the Practice as well?
I've made attempts with Patient Access, but it is not happy about my existence and refuses to 'tie things together'.

Reasonably ok but PMP refuse to us it as a means of communicating with patient other than ordering repeat prescriptions. Indeed the only way they will communicate with patients is by a phone that is permanently engaged.

I don’t know about Penkridge but my gp use patient access. It used to be ok for appointments etc but since March all it’s any good for is repeat prescriptions. ANY thing else has to be done by phone which they don’t answer. You can’t even book an appointment etc while standing in the car park in the rain to shout through a tiny window. They can’t hear inside because of the constantly ringing fu****g phones.
The NHS App seems to work ok, it lists medication & there’s a facility for ordering repeat prescriptions. There’s no facility for appointments or viewing records but this is probably due to the gp inefficiency.
I’ve only downloaded & registered the app today so can’t say how it’s likely to be but seems good so far.
P. S. I thought only my surgery was shit but it appears not.

I've used Patient Access for Holmcroft Surgery and never had any issues.

On the "people thinking they're immune after getting the vaccine", I think there are many who - for whatever reason - have a poor understanding of how the virus works so I wouldn't be surprised. I remember standing in line in Iceland the day after Boris announced the easing of the first lockdown and a bloke behind me cheerfully said "I guess social distancing is out of the window now we can go to parks again, heh?"

Still no side effects from yesterday's injection (touch wood) apart from I fell asleep on the sofa about 21.00 and woke up in the same position some 12 hours later.

Usually only have 6 or 7 hours sleep and often wake up in the middle the night but not last night.
I slept quite good , for the first time ever, after my Pfizer as well. Not like me to go to sleep on the sofa watching telly without any booze as well, which I've done a few times since the jab.

There can be a lot of psychological effects - relief at the 'beginning of the end', additional 'white coat anxiety' from the more public than usual medical attention, etc.

The effects could add or subtract from each other.

Just carry on.

I hope it's just a one off for me. Tiredness was one of the side effects they warned about so I don't think it's anything to worry about.

I'm beginning to wonder if there was anything in that syringe when I got my jab as I had no side effects whatsoever. Could be they were covered up by some other issues I've got going.
I've took to having a can or two of Guinness each day with regard to drinking. They have some kind of device in the can which foams it up a bit. :pint:

Mum and dad only reported a sore arm for a day or two. They also said their injections hurt more than most people (that we know) have reported so that may have been more to do with the person doing them.

I hardly felt mine ( normally in a heap on the floor with jabs ). I got a good jabber as no sign of where it went in either , except for slight ache for a few days which was hardly noticeable.

May have affected my brain though... Just done loads of paperwork putting 2020 for this year and 2021 for next year's dates.
Could have sworn it's still 2020..

My brain seems to have lost a year . I blame the jab

I've questioned if mine was a placebo, felt a ''sharp scratch'' when the needle went in, that was it. Arm felt fine in the area afterwards.
When I had the flu vaccine, the area felt hot to the touch, was swollen and I had a headache for a while.

Same here. I could tell I' d had each flu jab.

Hope the second experience is as good ( whenever that is. Hoping I'm contacted within the 12 weeks).

I had read somewhere that if you have had covid, either symptomatic or asymptotic your side affects may be be stronger.
I felt absolutely fine until day 3 when I felt a achy. I then felt really unwell for a week so decided to go for bloods. However it turned out it probably wasn’t my vaccine but my bloods themselves were a little out. So easy to think everything is covid related. Feeling much better now so it was just a blip!

Astra Zeneca for me today. I'm bloody shattered, but I put that down to being on my feet all day and talking to more people than I have in the last year.
Make sure you have some paracetamol handy, my experience started with me feeling shattered (but I'm always tired right now), fingers crossed that tiredness is the only effect.

We both had AZ last Saturday afternoon. No problems until late Sunday evening when within about 30 minutes of each other we both started to get arm ache. Slept like a log Sunday night but both woke up felt queezy Monday, wife said it was like morning sickness (I bloody hope not). That’s lasted for few days but also felt a bit tired most of the week. Feeling pretty well ok now though.
Has anyone reported side effects to the “Yellow Card” scheme yet?
