SA Covid testing in Stafford?

I don't really care, as long as people are getting the vaccine and it's not going to waste.

@gon2seed I know of 3 other couples where the man has had it and his wife hasn't.

Managed to get another test yesterday but at the Grosvenor Centre this time. All the other local centres are booked up for the whole week so it’s good to see people are using the service but strangely the Grosvenor was empty when we went, we only booked it on Friday afternoon & there were slots available every 5 minutes for pretty much all day (there were 2 testing stations operating). I heard part of a news item & apparently the government are going to start publicising rapid testing. About time too, it’s only been advised for about 3 months!!!!
P. S. Having the jab doesn’t affect having tests. It asks if you’ve had it when registering but that’s all.

After my vaccine jab, work have informed me I was not to have either of the tests until 90 days after I having it;. I think having had it renders you liable to registering positive in a test. They originally wanted me to take self administered Lateral Flow tests . But this changed on government advise. I know not, I just do what I am told! :aboot::bum:;)

We both tested negative on lateral flow tests a week after jab. Staff at test centre said it doesn’t make a difference. Registration questionnaire asked if we’d had the test, clicked yes then it asked : less than 7days, 7 to 14 days, over 14 days. Clicked 7 to 14 & proceeded exactly the same as previous tests.

Son knows of several younger people in his work (not around here) who have already had theirs. He doesn't know why though.
Was asked if I was available for a vaccination over the weekend, was then asked if there was anybody over 18 in the household also interested in having too. Very slick operation at the show ground, well organised and well run, wife had hers at Telford and we waited 2 hours.

Seems like lots of people between the ages of 35-40 with no underlying issues are being offered it, now as I know a few and friends have same the same. An NHS worker friend thinks it might be an algorithm booboo but my cousin (in his late thirties) was apparently told they're doing people in their 30's in the next few weeks so no idea!

I am getting a tad *issed off now, hearing of these people with no underlying factors, and well under 50 who have had the vaccine! I know there may be underlying reasons, ('use it or loose it!'), AND IT IS IN NO WAY A CRITICISM of the individuals who have, I had it three weeks ago. All the carers where I work had it, and many were under 30. If you get offered the chance you should get it. I am rather concerned about how decisions are made? I am a bit miffed as The Venerable Mrs Seed is 57 and a primary school teacher who is going into work EVERY day, teaching 18-19 pupils who are either the offspring of key workers, or their ability to access home schooling is limited. So she has to teach the 9 kids who are working at home. AT THE SAME TIME! She does share a teaching assistant, but only has use of her half of the teaching day. Please don't believe what some would have you believe, that teachers are ALL at home and having an easy' lockdown'. Sorry for that, but I am rather angry that she has not been contacted to have a jab! 57! And yes I've heard that schools are safe places and teachers are no more likely to suffer adverse effects of the virus, than any other member of the population! Kids, not wearing masks, not able to adhere to social distancing, not assiduously adhering to cleanliness advice. I'll stop now as I am just winding myself up! :emo:

Out of curiosity, do any of these 35 to 40 age group have weight issues?
As mentioned elsewhere, they are currently vaccinating people with a BMI over 40.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Better than not using the vaccine.
Well I had a call from the docs. 55 no health issues. Mrs p, who is 41 came up on spec with me and they had spares going so they told her to fill her boots. Neither of us is going to complain.

Interestingly her parents, who are Hungarian, have been invited for their jabs next week, meaning it'll either be the Sputnik or the Chinese vaccines that Mr Orbán has decided to use anyway, regardless of the current lack of approval from the EU authorities and they are very unsure whether to have it or not.
