Monty says:

Cut back big grass that’s died off (miscanthas) right back to the ground - Chit seed potatoes - Prune dogwood and buddleia.

The only relevant one is the spuds and I’m well ahead on that front, been chitting for weeks! First lot are in and second lot will be planted tomorrow (in pots in the shed for now)

My jobs are all garden related:

Slab greenhouse, weed borders and spread pony poo mulch and hopefully get a couple more raised beds made and filled.

Job today is to do as little as possible, hubby has taken eldest to pick up some business equipment so it’s just me and youngest having a lazy morning.

Bamboo has been thinned, we managed to separate what was one smallish pot cut in two a couple of years ago is now screening a 4m span with enough taken to screen our oil tank and the kids treehouse so I’m over the moon with that, I do love a freebie!

Have you planted it back in a pot? If not I'd recommend doing so otherwise it might get everywhere.

No, we want it to really get going, I did consider this but it’s in a big area we want to screen, if it gets too big and unruly or invades the lawn we are prepared that we may have to strip and relay some turf with a membrane under it in a couple of years.

My ex had a nice bamboo bush at one side of her garden, despite the mesh under the gravel we regularly found new shoots appearing at the other side!

We have Bamboo at the bottom of our garden, keep puttin off cutting it down. There's absolutely loads, or so the lads tell me.

Dig it up, whack small pieces in pots, keep well watered for a month or two and sell on Facebook when it gets going, people pay a fortune for bamboo.
Seriously? I was going cut down as much as possible and burn it!

Our house in Telford had this. It was a nightmare. Napalm wouldn’t get rid of it. Like middle class mares tail.

Cleared the loft out of the previous owners stuff.
4 x carpet rolls
50 plus empty bottles of whisky & gin
30+ pairs of ladies golf shoes.
some very kitch lawn chairs and sun loungers
a copy of the Daily Fail date July 25th 1995
Multiple Christmas decorations.

And the discovery that the flooring / bedroom ceiling below flexes a bit when you walk across certain parts of the loft now.....a little worrying to say the least.

I had a new loft hatch put in when I moved here, was told not to put anything up there unless I strengthened it first!

It's just the one area in the Loft that flexing a little more than I would like.

Suffice to say, there will be no weight placed on that area

This week monty says:

Plant nasturtium seeds.
Sow peas.
Plant gladioli and summer flowering bulbs.

Today for us is digging a new border, I found some great bare root rose plants for £2.99 each in the co-op last week so will be getting them planted with the summer bulbs. Hoping to get a cut flower area going this year.

One of my upcoming jobs is to move some bulbs further away from roses, so that they aren't torn by the thorns on windy days.
