Heading into the office today, in Solihull. A lot of positives to being in an office setting. The downside is I have to wait until at least 7.30 until I can start work and my productivity will be very low.

After stopping drinking alcohol since last August, I’d recently been enjoying the odd glass of wine.
So lovely sitting outside when the sun is shining with a drink of something.

Last night I drank far too much and this morning I’ve remembered why I stopped drinking in the first place.

Hubbys boss came to visit for a socially distanced lunchtime chat and stroll out with him , whilst he was up here in the Stafford office. I wasn't expecting it, but I got invited to join them as well . Lovely having a good chat and laugh walking in the sunshine with someone else other than just hubby. :)
Discussions on how to get them all back in the office covid safely . Looks like plans for a few weeks after hubbys 2nd jab . So the plants might be getting their dining table back soon .....
Didn't have time for a cuppa on the patio with us afterwards , so I've had to polish off the Salted Caramel cake , that I'd resisted all morning , all to myself :D

Also had to start on the Strongbows that I'd ordered on my latest Tesco Click & collect " Just in case"
We celebrate the anniversary of our meeting in The Grapes, when the coaches came to ' Top of the World' , more than our wedding anniversary.
14th April 1979 , around this time 9.45pm, never thought we'd be here cracking a few cans raising a toast to 42 years of being together :pint:

My local village pub opened for the first time today. The landlord has had some health problems, nothing to do with Covid, more I suspect worrying about his business during the lockdowns, heart problems requiring a stent. So it's opening for fairly limited hours for four days a week. He has some outside tables, front and back, so I sat outside the front and had a couple of pints of Guinness. Wall to wall sunshine but air temperature not particularly high, just about comfortable in the Sun. Took this pix from a front table after relaxing back ... (the canned Guinness is OK, but it doesn't come up to the draft.)
Phenomenal amount of traffic on the road, which is rather romantically named 'The Atlantic Highway' as it's the primary route into North Cornwall. Had to wait a while for a clear road shot.
I enjoyed my two pints, watching the world go by.

After all the discussion about washing cars on this forum I decided to use the car wash on the Eccleshall road.

Whilst sitting there going through the wash I’m looking at this sign and thinking but what if it doesn’t!!!

Tonight, I drove the car 'properly' for the first time this year - a 'big shop' at a place 14 miles away. It seemed quite an adventure.

I've been trying to remember to give it a little run round every ten days or so, but I'd not actually run it for over a fortnight.

It still has over half a tank from when I last filled it, around the end of November.

I nearly got stopped by my first red light this year - in both directions, but it went green both times before I got there.

We do actually have a light-controlled crossing in the town here, outside the primary school, but I've never seen it red even once in the last fifty years, if you look like you might use it, people will just stop and nobody has to suffer a timer wait.

You are all shaming me into washing my car. If a neighbour doesnt say can you do mine next I will be disappointed.
