I'm sure he means the scooters. If not, adopt my philosophy: Out back. Brick wall. .50 calibre machine gun. :P:heyhey:

I see the 12 month trial has completed and the scooters have been completely removed from Stafford's streets.

Do we take this to mean that Stafford Council don't consider the trial to be a success?

I think they do have a place providing the drivers are licenced and insured and the scooters are taxed (zero rate as other electric vehicles) and they display a number plate. this should help prevent the outrageous behaviour displayed on these vehicles over the last 12 months as there is the risk of being held to account.

Oh what a shame, I don't have to have eyes in my back anymore, I mean people moan about bikes on pavement but it's nothing compared to these scooters....

Feel sorry for those that actually used them for good use though, many of people travelled from Town to screwfix on them, as they have some gingers up there too.

Rental scooters will never be a good gauge of how private ones would fair IMO

People don’t care about the rental scooters, and only have them for short periods so just act stupid on them. Comparatively private scooter owners will have invested in them, and be much more aware of what they’re doing

Yay! No more almost being mown down by the ones belting down the pavement on Radford Bank , whilst looking at their mobile phones. Scraped my legs a couple of times on the wall trying to get out of the way . Or people tripping over the ones lying flat on the floor quite often up by us. Only ever seen one being ridden on the road , on the cycle path part of Queensville bridge, the rest have been on the pavements with either one or 2 people on messing around.

There's a good chance that was me. I've ridden them about 6 times over the trial and I'll ride them on the road or cycle lane if I can.
I'm sorry, but I think they're bloody dangerous, firstly on the pavement - I've nearly gone ass over tit several times as they've swept up behind me silently, and secondly on the road, screw fix workers are the bain of my life riding these and bikes with no lights, no fluorescent gear and dangerously in the dark.... 4 times recently they've zoomed into the side of my car in the dark as they don't stop and certainly don't look at junctions.

They would be an amazing idea if they had a dedicated cycle/scooter lane in all places they can go, but I think pathways and roads is unacceptable.

Roads would be fine if only they complied with the Highway code.

Personally I think they're a great concept but it has been pisspoorly implemented with F all thought for other road or footpath users.
