Just like everybody else, GPs are going to have to get with the program and realise that life still goes on, even with Covid. Using it as an excuse to stop offering a service to those that need it is totally unacceptable.
I don't really see how things are likely to change much. If they still get paid for 'providing a service' in the manner to which we have become accustomed, then things will continue as they are. They have the protection of a legally enforceable closed shop. We have little alternative, short of paying them again, as private patients, to bribe them to do what we're already paying them for.

RIP Michael Collins

What did the Romans ever do for us?

He tends to be the forgotten one of the three astronauts on Apollo 11. But he does have one record. While Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were on the Moon's surface, when the command module was on the far side of the Moon, Michael Collins was pulling the most remote and lonely solo presence in history. (Including being completely out of communications contact.)

On lifeguard duty watching the bird bath. A little baby robin has been daring to get further and further in each time. But a bit too daring just when he discovered the deeper middle part and had a bit of a surprise dunking. Going to have to put some stones in the middle for the smaller birds . Just tipped a lot of it out to make shallower for now.

We’ve got a family of robins that visit regularly. It’s hilarious watching them giving the 2 resident pigeons some stick. Even the blackbirds give them plenty of space.

Realising that it's Thursday, which means it's shopping night, I'm struggling to deal with the excitement.

I've also realised that since last Thursday night's adventure, I have been out of the gate a total of three times.

Once for the cycle trip on Friday.

To put the blue bin out on Sunday night.

And to bring it back in, still full, on Monday, having discovered that it was a green bin day. The fact that the green bin was empty, whilst a reasonable bit of evidence to use in the selection process, also meant that there was little detriment in the end...

I am dreading having childminding duties inflicted on me shortly - last year was very traumatic.

Been bombarded by different +212 610 ------ numbers all night on my mobile . Rings a couple of times and cuts off each time. Keep blocking them & deleting off my call log, and then another comes in. Googled and it's 'Morocco Reverse Look Up' .

He doesn't look happy in either picture which I suppose is understandable. Almost as if he could see his future.
