I've never worn make up, so it's just the hair for me. Over the last 4 or 5 years I've gone from short to very short and so used to have it cut every 5 weeks. It's very grey now too but I don't need to dye it when it's cropped. Anyway my hairdresser partially opened 2 weeks ago but hasn't called me back so I booked somewhere else online just in case, thinking I could cancel if he rang. The lady I booked with immediately text me and now I absolutely can't cancel that. How do you dump your hairdresser?!

I realise my short is shorter than most women think of as short. Here it is at the moment.

The Jaime Lee look is actually how I picture short lol
I'm terrified of hairdressers, I would actually rather have surgery than go to one. I just don't feel comfortable there. Luckily I don't really worry about my appearance. If I'm clean it'll do. It isn't really up to anyone else how I look and it's just not important to me. The only thing I mind is the length of my hair for practical reasons. I like it above my shoulders. Longer than that and the bloody dogs stand on it when they get behind me on the back of the sofa. So I get the husband to lop it off for me. I have no tolerance for hair pulling.
I own make up but only from when I did acting. Technically it's all out of date.
I wouldn't have a clue how to go about getting a different style. I wouldn't know if any suit me. Husbands hopeless with hair opinion and the few times I've mustered the courage to go to one, they are appalled I want their advice. These days I just can't actually afford to go to one anyway. I'm discouraged from doing what my eldest daughter did last year. Frustrated with her hair she took the clippers to it and gave herself a grade 5 all over. It suited her. She's less happy with her fiancé's sister moving her wedding forward a year which doesn't give her time to have it the length she would prefer for being a bridesmaid.

I've saved hubby a fortune by cutting his hair since the first lockdown. He used to get it cut at Francesco every 3 weeks. I now do it every 3 weeks with the clippers. Got better and better at it, and he's more happier with the results now than his hairdresser/barber days. Went half a grade lower all over this last time , with a 4 & 6 and he's even more pleased with it. He has to wait til I'm in a good mood and feel like doing it though, or could end up with disastrous results if I take my temper out on his head ....

"every 3 weeks"?
I used to go to the barbers twice a year ( whether I needed to or not ! )

The ex,before we met, used to have hair way longer than mine (bum level) It was on his shoulders when we got married. Then he started going bald. He used to have a grade 2/3 all over, still does as far as I know.

Our first attempt in the first lockdown was rather hilarious , when hubby grabbed the shaver in his frustration at me not being as good as the professionals and had a go himself without looking in the mirror. But he'd turned the shaver round and did a massive 'Grade 0' bald strip down the middle. So I had to shave all the rest off to match , he had to go completely bald . Now that DID look awful

Hahahahahaha!!! I did that with the youngest, the comb bit didnt have a bit to hold it to the clipper, I put a no3 comb on, dragged it across the top of his head, and the thing came off. He had a 2" strip down the middle. Couldn't leave him like that, so I took the lot off. He loved it, said it made him look 'ard. His Dad hit the roof with me, too late shout once the damage was done.

Lots of little jobs done today, in much better weather than we've been having recently.

I decided to clean the brassware on the front door. It seemed a good idea to take it off to do the job properly. This involved accessing both sides of the door, so it seemed reasonable to leave the door open whilst this operation was undertaken.

This proved, almost immediately, to have been a major tactical error. Customers from the terrace restaurant area felt that it was reasonable to enter the premises in order to complain directly about the level of service that was being provided to them at the time, whilst staff were diverted onto what the customers clearly thought was an unnecessary task.

Any photos?

Are you asking @Gramaisc for pictures of him polishing his knob/knocker?

*I'm so sorry, I couldn't help myself....
It was very shiny, after I put some considerable effort in.

My husband used to go to Francesco every 3 weeks too, but for over 12 months now he’s been cutting his own and I honestly can’t tell the difference.
It’s a wonder that they are still in business if our husband’s are typical of the local area.

Yes, every 3 weeks.
Believe it or not, there are still some men out there that have a smart cut and take pride in their appearance.

Having said that, I’m not disparaging any gents with long hair.
We’ve got a friend that used to be in a band in the 80’s.
He’s still got the same hairstyle that he had back in the day, spiky on top, just touching his shoulder, it would look ridiculous on quite a few men but it looks great on him.

The carer is the same, he'll even sometimes shave twice in a day if he's shaved in the morning & we are going out in the evening, as the 5 o'clock shadow really is there by then....

I can't say I take a pride in my appearance, and after six months my hair is medium rather than log.

My husband is the same.
He’s super smart, always likes to look his best.
He’s younger than me too which is why I need to sort myself out.
