Yes, the instructions for this are very long winded, the last one had 1 twisty knob for programme, synthetics, cottons, quick wash etc, and a button for temperature, one other button to delay the start if required...... This one seems to be like starting up something from nasa, which apparently you can also do with an app on your phone..... Handy I thought, I can switch it on while I'm at work and come home to freshly washed clothes.... But oh no, you have to be stood next to it with your phone.... What use is that?

Made the husband read the instructions for ours then simply said - tell me which is the 30min wash.

Job done.

No idea why clothes need to slosh round for three hours!

Totally agree, all I need is a quick wash, a 40, 60 and 90 degree wash. Second last machine was the best, it had a quick wash, all the other washes took 1hr.......none of this 2hrs 40min nonsense.

Our old machines fastest wash was 70 minutes. This one has a 15 and 30 minute super quick wash. Will only spin up to 1200 on the super quick wash though , so I'm banging it onto 1400 spin afterwards while the weather is crap. When it dries on the line quicker I'll just use the 15 minutes with 1200 all the time.
This new one doesn't constantly sound like a plane taking off either . Never had such luxury :D (Wishing now we hadn't bothered forking out £76 for a new pump on the old one last month, and just got a new one then instead! )

I’d always thought that our washing machine at our place in Spain was better than the one at home purely because I could do a 30 minutes quick wash which my machine at home didn’t have.
When my home one eventually conked out, I spent ages looking for a replacement, something easy to use.
I got another Hotpoint. It’s got a 30 minute cycle, a hotter 60 minute cycle, and I do put my sheets/bedding on the recommended “hours” cycle.
But the best bit it that you can open the door after it’s started. So if you turn around and find a dropped sock, you can open the door pop it in.

Presumably that doesn't work if the machine is full of water or does it have an instant drain feature like a dish washer?

It’s up to a certain level. So you can still add items while it’s filling up with water but not once it’s started the cycle.

That's what I like about this new one as well. I can add to the load , or adjust the settings during the wash. Not tried it yet...

Well, I mistakenly thought my cheapo £2.78 computer mouse was being despatched off a shelf in Amazon up the road as it was supposed to come 'next day' free Prime Delivery , and according to last nights tracking arrive today. Seems not , and tracking now changed to delivery tomorrow.

Looks like it's going through quite a process for that £2.78 to get here. So far ....

I made a mistake , it was even cheaper ...£2.70 and now on it's journey again. Will be interesting to see how many miles it travels around the UK to reach me from it's latest destination ..

Having a geography lesson , learning about new places in the UK as my little mouse travels to reach me. I'd never even heard of Bardon Hill , but apparantly the super fast racing pigeon has now just dropped it off there...
