My first reaction was “another one!?” but reading about the EV charging it makes more sense now… you want something at mass charging stations, as they’re kept on the edges of areas so they don’t increase congestion

How long does it take to charge an EV? Seems that food/drink outlets are the ideal places to install them.My first reaction was “another one!?” but reading about the EV charging it makes more sense now… you want something at mass charging stations, as they’re kept on the edges of areas so they don’t increase congestion
Bit pointless, they couldn't even keep the one in the station alive, which was crazy considering the passing trade and prime location. Don't know how one in the middle of nowhere will fare.
It's not really the middle of nowhere, apart from Arnold Clarke, there's quite a few other businesses over there including screw fix which employs a lot of people.... Qnd I believe lots more are built slightly further down the a34, wasn't there a large pet warehouse going in there....Bit pointless, they couldn't even keep the one in the station alive, which was crazy considering the passing trade and prime location. Maybe it'd work if their coffee tasted of coffee.Bit pointless, they couldn't even keep the one in the station alive, which was crazy considering the passing trade and prime location. Don't know how one in the middle of nowhere will fare.

Completely disagree. Given the traffic on the road the place will be a roaring success. As for the one at the station, it's hard to compare given it was merely a front for Select Service who were running out.Bit pointless, they couldn't even keep the one in the station alive, which was crazy considering the passing trade and prime location. And this is off the motorway, so not hit by the extortionate costs related to the site. It's almost making a sort of off motorway services, where you won't get screwed for every penny. With EVs needing to 'fill up' more often on journeys this makes a lot of sense. They’re probably (hopefully) rapid chargers which are roughly 45-60 minutes depending on the car. So yeah, they get installed near places where you can take 5
True, I don't think I have ever been past the one on the Hough & not seen a queue of cars even in the evenings. Personally I think their coffee is sh@te but the masses can't seem to get enough of it.Completely disagree. Given the traffic on the road the place will be a roaring success. I live 5 minutes walk from the one on the Hough and I'm staggered by how much drive thru traffic go through the place.
Surprised they never thought of putting in a greater number of charge points at the new McD by junction 13....And this is off the motorway, so not hit by the extortionate costs related to the site. The current demographic for EV owners isn't, perhaps your typical McDs customer.Surprised they never thought of putting in a greater number of charge points at the new McD by junction 13....
People used to use IKEA like that. It's almost making a sort of off motorway services, where you won't get screwed for every penny. .
You'd be surprised, and its only going to go in one direction.... Bottom line is that you can't be too choosy when you've only got 10 miles of range on your EV on the M6...The current demographic for EV owners isn't, perhaps your typical McDs customer.
A sensible EV owner would plan for a more suitable location than a McD.You'd be surprised, and its only going to go in one direction.... Bottom line is that you can't be too choosy when you've only got 10 miles of range on your EV on the M6...
Personally, I wouldn't have either.Quite a bit of unconscious bias going on here.
I'm reasonably middle class and I don't have an EV but if I did have to stop for a recharge I'd sooner have a McDonalds than a Starbuck's coffee any day of the week.
I know ....... you can take a girl out of Stoke .....

Bloody-hell, another coffee outlet!. How much coffee do the good people of Stafford drink?. How does anyone get to sleep with all that caffeine?...
How many changepoints do they have in Wednesbury?IKEA give you £6 off when you use a charger too, so you can actually end up spending a negative amount of money charging your car.
Sometimes I’m actually upset when it’s offline and free vending as I don’t have any proof of charging to give them for the discount
