Speeding things up now. The barmaid is asking me what I'm ordering as I'm tapping away, and drink poured before I've finished ordering :pint:

Hmmmm they're not near Cresswell are they? That's where she's 'supposedly' staying.... Saying that she dissapeared last weekend with no explanation or clue to where she was apart from 'Eccleshall'.

I'm having parenting problems, mostly that I don't want to be a parent anymore, it's too stressful.

Any advice on how to deal with hormonal teenagers, who behave exactly like you yourself do, which is frankly horrific, would be gratefully received.
Been there and know how stressful it is. Mine coincided with my parents being @rsy with me as well and I ended up on anxiety tablets at the time. Hang on in there....it'll get better....eventually .

Now let’s find out who lives where… when people start talking about the power cut

At least I know our office ISP emails me at all hours of the day

No, they're in Acton Trussell. Doesn't mean that ain't where yours is though! Was 6 of them, I took 3 and 3 met them there.
Hmmmm the carer dropped mine in Creswell where she was meeting 2 others, and another 3 were being dropped off later.... I believe yours & mine are at the same school too (if I remember from Lancers)... Fingers crossed no knocks on the door from the police tonight then..

Well the other three were driven by one of their grandads, they're staying in the garden of mine's nan, although the house itself is unnocupied as they live in a different house in the village at the moment. I messaged her earlier to check if they had enough blankets, she received the message but heard nowt back though.

TBH I trust her to behave better than I did, if things go to pot there is an adult in the village they can call. I didn't hear any clinking of bottles when they loaded their bags, in fact I dropped them at B&M first to get pop and sweets! Will see what tomorrow brings.

Yeah, I kind of trust mine too, I've offered her tastes of alcohol in the past and she's, always refused, even though my eldest 2 were always allowed wine with Sunday dinner at grannys from a early age. The eldest had come home drunk several times, by her age (15) thus one seems sensible, if non talkative and sullen.

Mmm, I don't have to deal with that sort of thing, but I like to think that I would be quite relaxed about it, on the basis that the sort of stuff that went on 'in my day' seems quite unlikely now...

Guns, explosives, rescuing a drunken eleven-year-old who had fallen down a well in the pitch dark - that sort of thing...

And they say life in Bloxwich is dull.
The well was just behind where this hotel is now, not that there were any buildings there then, beyond a shed/café with no electricity.

It's not Bloxwich.

Reply received at a little after 2am, told me nothing other than they were fine, typical teenager! I'll see if I get one later for a lift back.....

Just been to the pub for my first Saturday lunchtime drink in .... YONKS. Sat outside in glorious sunshine watching a colossal amount of traffic passing through the village heading South. Some of these caravettes (as I call them) are bigger than my bungalow !!! I'd swear one was so big it probably had a swimming pool and a bowling alley in it !!!!

Enjoying a drop of red.
Five hour journey to Poole this morning. Considering the amount of traffic and the number of people who had decided to crash their cars, I'll consider that a bit of a result. Wife and junior who were following in the car reported the engine beginning to look like it might overheat so we pulled up at Gloucester Services for an inspection. Sure enough it was running hot but a closer look revealed that somehow the connection for the electric fan had come apart. 5 minutes with a bit of electrical tape sorted the issue. The Mrs took the opportunity to nip into the shop there to buy some delights which we happily scoffed in Pool for our lunch once we'd set up. Gloucester Services is second only to Tebay in terms of the quality of food available.

Headed into Poole this afternoon but headed straight out again as it was packed. We'll try again once the bank holiday is over. Instead, strapped the bikes to the back of the car and drove over to the South Downs and had a really enjoyable couple of hours just pottering around.

Braving Pool tonight for a sit down chippy tea which we have booked.
