It's was held back for a year, due to this horrible virus.
I absolutely love/ adore the girl. We're closer than I am to my own daughter, told her this morning, she's the child I should have had.
Today Matthew, I'm going be smiling my head off, Today Matthew, is looking good xx

Until yesterday, all new Toyotas & Lexuses came with a five year manufacturer warranty.
This has now changed, they now come with a three year warranty which automatically extends by a year each time the car is serviced by a franchised Toyota dealership, up to a maximum of ten years and 100k miles.
Existing cars sold with a five year warranty can also get this extended for up to ten years when serviced by Toyota.
If a car has not been serviced on time or by a Toyota dealer, it can re-enter the scheme following a service at a franchised dealer, who will check it over and perform any required repairs, after which it will be covered again.
Models with two year service intervals will get a two year extension at each franchised service.
Services in year ten of the car's life will still get 12 months extension, so it's possible to cover a car up to the day before its 11th birthday.

EU regulations require all car makers to provide a two year warranty on all new cars, even those serviced outside their franchised dealerships, as long as the service schedule is fulfilled correctly. However beyond month 24, it's up to the manufacturer to decide.
Most cars probably leave the dealer network for servicing between three and ten years of age, so there's potentially a significant amount of servicing work that the franchised dealer could recapture in exchange for this extended warranty cover.
For people who carry on returning their Toyota to the franchised dealership every year anyway, as my parents did, this is all upside. For others it may be a question of balancing the higher cost of official servicing against the benefits of any cover.
One issue is what a warranty does or does not cover - as a car gets older, a number of parts will wear out and need replacement - AFAIK the cost of replacing parts at the end of their expected life wouldn't be covered by a warranty, only premature failures. OTOH anyone concerned about e.g. possible hybrid battery failure may find this useful. Or any Supra owners concerned about their German mechanicals falling apart early.
If buying a secondhand Toyota/Lexus, maybe a GT86 or a run-out ISF, one with full Manufacturer service history may now be more worth seeking out.
Will be interesting to see how many more owners of 3-10 year old Toyotas go for franchised dealer servicing, and if any other manufacturers follow suit.

The whole longevity v nationality issue with cars has changed enormously. Some of us can remember when a Japanese car would fall to bits faster than most.

An early 70s Honda Civic was not a long-term purchase...

Thank you all xxx
Had such a lovely day. I am so lucky that she & I have always got on since we first met. And now she is a real fixture in the family.
The weather has been perfect, all their friends (that they were allowed to have) came to wish them well. We went back to theirs for food, and copious amounts of tea, but the real party will be held in July. They can have a lot more people at the venue then. :D :D

Decided not to go to the office this week, working from home. Rang round several wickes trying to locate another pack of LVT for the kitchen I got on clearance yesterday (think I just have enough, which means I'll need more!). All I rang actually had no stock, the computers were lying. I finally found one in the store near my office, and they'll only hold it today

So true, from personal experience the 80's Alfa's feared no better as they tended to rust and flake off around the reliable boxer engine.

The final rusty nail in the coffin of the disposable car market was probably the Lancia Beta. Again, an engine mount (or lack of) problem.

As soon as somebody decided that they had to make a bit of an effort about it, the whole industry had to change.

I'm a fickle beast, whenever I change teams I seem to leave the old teammates behind.

How is your back?
Terrible, but the pain will only ease if I do things and keep active, it's nice to be back around people and much more rewarding than sitting at home feeling sorry for myself, although it's never been this bad before.

I've never worked anywhere so cliquay, but it seems after nearly 5 years I must now fit in (which I didn't think I did!) I had some absolutely lovely messages and calls from my colleagues & I genuinely didn't realise they cared so much.

Still, it was back to the SSDD.... Nothing changes!

I see there’s how a STAG and a STIG local FB group. And another Stafford Spotted page after it seems the previous was suspended for a bit

So… who upset who?

Anyone else have 'work family'?
I am a work 'Mummy' to 3 and a 2nd Mummy to 1 who left due to ill health.

I've worked on the ward for 10yrs. the kitchen for bitches was bad enough, but the ward is terrible! I'm getting used to walking into a room and the conversation dies, immediately.
It can't be because they all think I'm a gossip, because I'm the first one everyone turns to when they have a problem.

Enjoying a drop of red.
Subway lunch today as we're touring around and it was just convenient. Not been in a Subway since well before lockdown. Can't say I'm in a hurry to go back any time soon either.
