My father in law visited us today in our new house, his first visit. I love the guy. Really do. Aside from one major issue, over the past few years, from nowhere, he has become massively racist. Today I had to tell him not to use certain words in front of my grandson or in my house.

I’m thankful not to have anyone like that in my family but I’d probably just say “you’re not visiting” and be done with. Of course said than done I know.

I think we have a couple of solenoid valves controlling our Raspberry Pi watering system. If you ever happen to be in one of the greenhouses at 6pm you aren't going go come out dry.

With the benefit of hindsight I should have put a couple of popups in the lawn too, but alas…

I was told recently that someone wasn't more racist, I got told I was just too pc and intolerant. So I called her a cnut and got banned from that FB page.

Was it one of the local groups…? They seem to be a bit of breeding ground for unsavoury types unfortunately.

Had a good day (thanks to @Glam) but, I've been back at work 3 days, thought I was coping with pain but it's been terrible today even after a day off, couldn't even put stuff in and out of the cooker.... Thank goodness for those that spend time, talking about nothing but take your mind off everything else. Much appreciated xxx

YAY! :yay:Finally been told a date when I can reclaim half the house back , can dust without fear of causing havoc by dislodging connections, and normality resumes . Hubbys boss is coming to help cart him and everything else back into the office soon after we get back from our hols. :)

Only a few more weeks to hurdle the ethernet cable running across the middle of the lounge , although after 16 months I'll probably still be automatically stepping over it when it's gone.

Well, that is unless everything flares up again and Boris decides otherwise ..

Boris should decide otherwise, but we all know he won't. Prepare for your husband to be back in winter (can you sort out the spare bedroom by then?)
We haven't got a spare bedroom, we've knocked the 2 bedrooms into one. (And sons old bedroom is so small it hasn't got room for all the computer stuff, phone systems, printer, files etc etc as well as a desk . Add to that the fact it's like a sauna as it's south facing , no way would hubby consider that :()

If things flare up even more, then the boss himself will most likely decide against the move back next month. He moved everyone out even before the first lockdown to keep everyone safe. BUT ....for a few weeks at least I have hope and something to look forwards to

Now just hoping it's third time lucky this year with our Poole holiday , and we do actually get to go this time. Pub tables all booked in for evening meals for the first week, but not heard from the cottage owner yet to say it's going ahead . :hmm: (Said she'd wait until just before to confirm and request payment etc to see what the situation is at the time )

But Hubby's boss will no longer be paying half of the utility bills ?

Don't forget abou the "working from home" tax allowance etc.
Yep, already claiming that .

But Hubby's boss will no longer be paying half of the utility bills ?
Now that would have been nice ! He did fund a nice new printer for us though, when our little old one (which was only really ever meant for printing the odd flight ticket etc off) got thrashed so much it conked out.

We were only expecting it to be a few weeks originally, no way did we expect it to last this long!
