Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Gotta spend the 14 million on something , haven't they, even though I'm sure they already had funds available for the work years ago...

The £14million is not for the redevelopment of BC offices, or unless it shouldn't be.

The £14 million is for town centre improvements.

You could argue that falls under the improvement remit though. Especially if they doll up the bottom creating some kind of café or something in the old Euronics, and RBS.

I think the stuff on the outside, with separate entrances is fine. I can't see Specsavers would have moved there otherwise.

The market is going to be moved anyway, I've been in meetings where its been discussed as a general event venue once its cleared.

I imagine if they can work out a separate external entrance for the gym that works with their plans it would get to stay.

Loading the guildhall probably also means loading a useful set of free toilets in the town centre, but I can't imagine the carpark will go as I assume that makes money.

The toilets in the guildhall are already closed . Tells you to go elsewhere and use the ones in the market.

I'd assumed that was a covid thing and that they would reopen. It's a good reminder that a lot of what we consider public spaces and amenities are not.

I read that as barber shop quartet (not surprising given the typo).

Lots of houses going up, more people moving in, more heads of hair to cut.

Surely the market for barbers is shrinking?. I have a Grade 1 and purchased a £40 set of clippers during the first lockdown for what I thought was an interim measure until the barbers re-opened. Unfortunately for them I haven't been back since. (& before anyone comments that I don't sport the most demand of haircuts & why was I not doing it myself before, I only used to get charged £5 a pop at the barbers opposite the jail).

Little coffee outlet opening on platforms 3 and 4 of the station, I think the same people who have the one on platform 1.

It is the same company and was opened before first lockdown usually for the morning rush hour but I haven't seen it open recently.

It was always a good coffee on Platform 1.
A few years ago I bought a coffee on Lichfield Trent Valley railway station - and then realised it didn't make much sense as I was only going to Lichfield City.
