What's for dinner/tea?

On my own tonight. Got a large battered burger and chips. Mmm health food.

The tough decision was whether to eat tea whilst watching Boris and the two garden gnomes of doom on the telly or to go eat on the beach with a 500ml bottle of Evian full of red wine.

I hope you chose the beach!!!

Enjoying a drop of red.
It's some time since I've been to the Chet but a mate from up the road wanted to go so here we are, sitting outside. Bit busy but everyone behaving themselves Covid-wise. It's so not cordon bleu but I had a nice burger and the Guinness is good.

Walking home now to watch the footy with jr.

We’ve given up on the Chet.

We’d absolutely love it to be fantastic, but we’d even settle for average.
Unfortunately our experience of boil in the bag, or microwave food doesn’t cut it for us.

It’s our nearest walkable pub, currently through the fields of barley, it would just be so lovely to just stop off for a lovely bite to eat, but as lovely as the landlords are, they don’t appear to have much vision.

The only other walkable alternative was the Barley Mow and that's just dire on all levels.

The Chet is fine for what it is but I'd sooner spend my money elsewhere, given the choice.

Yes absolutely, you and I are on the doorstep of similar pubs, but it’s a shame that Milford Common doesn’t have a decent pub.

We’ve got people coming up from Surrey next weekend, and people from London after that.

Thank heavens for the glorious walks of Cannock Chase, Teddersley Park, The foodie delights of The Seven Stars and The Viceroy. Apart from that there’s not much choice for dining out locally.
