Whats going on in the field next to the castle?

Took this in August 2018 last time up in Stafford. When I was a kid and the castle still looked a bit like a castle there were no trees on this approach path. Personally I thought it was an improvement, (the trees, not the castle.):|

The area around the castle is fine. The castle itself is a bit poor compared to just about anything. Might as well go and stare at Kemley House.

He's working alongside the professionals from The Golf Academy, and they've all been the drivers of the changes over the last year. Craig Thomas from TGA is the MD and has day to day running, Jonathan is mostly behind the scenes working on funding etc. The purpose of the CIC is to divorce the club from Luddingtons of the expansion fame. It's still officially on hold but it's no secret that it is very unlikely to happen.

I think it's a great time to join, there's a real buzz around the place (few naysayers who have been members for years) and the fact we have a pro shop is something I never expected, it's really bad for my bank balance though!! If you ever want a knock give me a shout.

Thanks that would be great. I've yet to play there yet but will be doing something about that in the next month or so

I'm unsure how having Jonathan involved can be a good thing but wish the golf club all the best.

What on earth is going on with that desolate waste ground that the golf club created? I’ve driven by on the M6 countless times recently with absolutely no activity whatsoever. It’s a barren mess.

It’s going to be a waste ground for drivers who can’t count but like a restaurant in the style of the distressed armed forces

Wholly thread resurrection Batman . . . .

I went for a walk over the weekend and had a look at this site. What a mess! It looks 100% worse than it did originally and certainly nothing like a golf course.

How this company got away with what was essentially the dumping of waste onto this land I will never know, I assume all work has stopped and its never and was never going to be a golf course.

Is this the land between the castle and the M6, across the road from Sundown Drive?
