They're doing something on the Stafford to Gnosall stretch from that week too but I'm struggling to find out what.

Hang on a sec.

They are directing traffic from Uttoxeter, along the A50 and A520 to Stone, then the A34 to Stafford, and then the A513 and A518 back to Uttoxeter?
I understand that, if you block an A road, for example, your suggested diversions must be by means of similar style roads.

This might matter to some drivers of larger vehicles.

Other people can either follow the convoluted recommendations or sort themselves out.

They could be repairing the abysmal job they made of repairing the potholes last year. The raised surface they left is worse than the oyholes were.

On the A51 northbound today saw the diversion for Uttoxeter Races. Diversion is left onto A518 to Stafford then right ont Beaconside. I wasn’t going onto Beaconside so can’t be certain but I’d bet it’s then A34 to Trentham, A500 then A50 to Uttoxeter.
I wonder if any county councillors etc live close to the A51 in Sandon.

YR16MOF, Silver Ford Focus. Followed this from Great Bridgeford, where they pulled out of the Newport Road, in front of a lorry, all the way to the Windmill roundabout. They went straight through a red light at Junc 14 roundabout, no signals were used at any time. Again, pulled out in front of someone at Bristol st roundabout, seemed totally oblivious to those around them.

No showing as insured, you should report it

Anyone else noticed there's been a lot of minor repairs on the roads on that route over the last couple of weeks. We should accept the potholes etc but god forbid the iron men should run/ride on a bumpy road.

My OH is doing it, and we walked the half marathon route at the weekend. It still isn't in amazing condition.

I can certainly confirm that Weston Road is as ruined as ever, they still need to fix that pothole at the lights…

Yep, but they’ve recently patched the holes on the other side of the road between the lights & the co-op. Opposite the ones they patched a couple of months ago. They can’t do them all in one go, they have to leave some work for their mates.

Cones everywhere they can think of today in Stafford centre.
Agree and ridiculous given the only warning was on the Queensway island by North and South Walls. Exiting Kingmeads (McDonalds and Aldi) this morning you could only turn left and they even had cones around the Island as well (but badly done so it squeezed the traffic into one lane just before the A34 exit to Asda and then back into 2...
