Fuel Wankers.

I have enough fuel to get to the lake District at the moment but that's it. Went by Asda earlier they had petrol but not diesel. Guess which I need

Got through Town easy enough. Asda & Tesco both out of fuel. Half the pumps at Lammascote Rd are blocked off as is the right Lane to turn up Riverway at the lights due to a wanker in that Lane trying to turn into the petrol station & also blocking part of the lane into town causing traffic to back up on Riverway.

Guess it all boils down to whether you would rather sit in a queue to get fuel...or sit longer on the side of the road because the tank is dry and you didn't panic buy.

Some of us had no option but to try and fill, and had to take our lumps with those who didn't really need to buy.

Or spend more and purchase from a motorway which are being given priority so they don't run out.

I, in my infinite wisdom, am driving to Scotland tomorrow. Imagine my surprise not to be able to get onto asdas forecourt yesterday because it was rammed at 10.30 in the morning.
I would never drive that far and always get the train to Scotland ( most recently 2013, 2018, 2019 ) but that might not be practical for you tomorrow.

I've reread my comment and fail to see how it's considered "silly" but giving this forum "a rest" is easily done.

To be fair to @Mudgie I think this time he was trying to broaden the choice of travel opportunities rather than everyone driving everywhere. As such his comments are probably valid on this occasion. Give the guy a chance please.

Hindsight is 20/20 eh, being told I should have queued to panic buy on Friday or not planned on using my car isn't really helpful.

We did look at trains, incidentally. The cost was prohibitive compared to fuel.

Thank you to those that have reassured me motorway stops have been prioritised with fuel, we'll stop at one oop north.

I didn't know that you "did look at trains" and found that "the cost was prohibitive", probably at short notice.
I prefer to change at Manchester rather than Crewe and two years ago TPX's Advance fares between Piccadilly and Edinburgh Waverley worked out at less than 7p a mile which I believe is cheaper than if I had driven.

We will be taking a hit on the higher motorway fuel prices next week driving down to the south coast , and topping up each service station we stop at to make sure we get back home after the holiday. Pity they aren't all as reasonable as Frankley services, which has been showing quite decent prices on the approach signs lately.

Frankly Moto are carrying out a pricing trial if successful will be rolled out across the Moto network so currently set at supermarket prices plus 5ppl approximately.

Currently asda have both grades available but have set up a queueing system around the carpark so might be worth not shopping at Asda in the car until the queueing has eased off a bit.
Texaco is unleaded only.
Eccelshall rd shell no petrol or diesel but shop looks open.
