This reminds me of many strange interpretations I had to figure out when reading equipment manuals from that part of the world ...

Now my alarm doesn't go off for a trip down the M6 every day I am not waking up early enough - I need the light! But I also love the light in the summer evenings.

Ughh, getting up & going to work in the dark, working in a nearly windowless building, then coming home in the dark.... Roll on spring.
I once worked in an actual windowless building. I took sandwiches for my lunch. I once worked a weekend in the winter, when the weather was particularly rough. So, from a Sunday afternoon to the morning of a week the following Saturday, I did not see any natural light - having gone to work and back home in the dark and it audibly pissing down every dinner hour.

I was looking for a pix that involved horror or death for Halloween when I found this. I gotta tell yer I've been there over the last year and I still laughed .... 😅

Heh, Westwood Ho. I had a good holiday there when I was a kid.
You remember that ramp that goes down to the beach? Well I went for an evening stroll along the shore one night and realised after a while that the tide was coming in, so turned to head back. Got near the ramp and the sea water had come in and surrounded the bottom of it so I took my shoes off, rolled up my trousers, took a step forward.... and did a faceplant into the water as I totally forgot that the ramp has a bit of a ditch around the bottom of it and so it was actually a pool of seawater. Was drenched head to toe when I got back to the place we were staying!

An early example of 'tombstoning.' I have it on good authority that he got out a hell of a lot faster than he went in. 😜
