Thanks @SketchyMagpie .
Just so frustrating that I was enjoying all my zumba, Sh'bam,& aqua classes , gym, swimming & walking . Lost 3 stone doing it , but now can't even do simple tasks at home (or drive). Weight is starting to creep back on already with no exercise, more scoffing & extra ' apple juuce' 🤪 medication to kill the pain.

Glad you healed well .
You will be back to your old self before you know it. Enjoy the rest & recuperation while you can, slow down, relax, your body will heal better if you rest. Believe me, it takes time, but it will be worth it to be back to normal. You lost 3 stone, you can do it again!

I'll think of that while giving up & trying to struggle to do things myself @littleme

Going out for a walk to the nearby countryside park for a coffee & bite to eat with mates tomorrow morning.
Another mate wants to meet for a meal in a local pub sometime as well.. Got to wait til I can hold a knife & fork better than a 2 yr old for that one 😂

Thanks @SketchyMagpie .

Even more frustrating hubby used to me doing everything for him , is acting hard done to and me asking for help with simple tasks is causing arguments .

Almost knocked myself out earlier . Bent down struggling to put/kick things into kitchen cupboards. Stood back up and WHACK! Hadn't seen him come in and open cupboard above , left it open & went back out. Felt so sick & dizzy!

@SketchyMagpie
Are you well insured? Certain he isn't trying to kill you off? xx

I have achieved my weekly Lidl run without any special incident. It was -7 at dawn, but the Sun has raised the air temperature up towards zero now.

The roads here are only treated if they are deemed worthy - essentially those that would be A and B roads in the UK - any side roads are left to the care and discretion of any user, although they are generally OK, I find. The couple of miles at each end are treated, but the twelve miles in the middle is worthy of extra care.

On my return, I had a tin of Lidl tomato soup, with toasted Lidl bread, with a liberal application of Lidl butter and a lump of Lidl cheddar.

I've now just finished my Lidl coffee with Lidl cream in.

I've stocked up the fire that I started before I went out, fed the birds and the cat and I'm ready for an afternoon in.

I note that the birds are not fed from Lidl, but the cat is...

After waking up in pain thinking of cancelling my morning out, and iit was also -7C.... so glad I didn't in the end!
Had a really nice walk, coffee & chat with the amazing mates I've made. Each time they insist that I have an escort back to my doorstep to make sure I don't have an argument with the pavement again.😂

Couldn't have met any nicer people down here. The one has had experience of being incapacitated ( had a head on crash years ago in country lanes, young male speeding around bend on wrong side of road. He got off with scratches & bruises. She ended up bed bound & being rebuilt over 3 years , then had to learn to actually walk again!)

So she's been so good realising simple tasks I need help with ,. Even brought a big loose sock for me to wear as a mitten on my ungloved hand today 😂

Now just got to practice not looking like a toddler using a knife & fork , having to hold with thumb & finger, for a meal out with another mate very soon.😃

Made me realise this week...I do help people if I see them obviously struggling. But to look out even more for people needing small things like a door holding open longer, buttons pressing on crossings etc. Simple tasks but impossible with limited fingers & arms not allowed to lift & pull !

I had a frank discussion with my dog this morning, on how cold it was, that I didn't feel her life would be enriched by a walk around the block and wouldn't it be so much better if we just sat down and relaxed before work. It was incredibly cold this morning walking my dog.

We set off on our daily morning walk over the Chase at first light. A hundred metres in I'd decided it wasn't that bad really. The pups however, had decided that I was a complete madman, that it was far too cold for anything other than lying in front of the fire and that a sit down protest would be held until I relented and walked back to the house. Idle sods...

Got a feeling I'm going to be getting to know the plaster room lads well over the next 6 weeks or so.😂

Disaster struck taking plastic bag off after shower . Had to have finger put back into proper position again , I did try to put splint back on, but my incorrect attempt would have caused further problems so good job I rang them.

Can see this being a daily occurance , good job we live up near the hospital 😂

During discussions elsewhere today, I mentioned that I was concerned about the state of @Carole's butt after the recent cold spell, even though the beginnings of a thaw may be arriving now.

I have just been to examine it - under the cover of darkness, even though it is not on full public view.

As you can see, it is very full and firm at the moment, as it has been since Christmas.
