    Cash Generator Closing

They check and record ID but probably the standards of proof are very low Probably you can have it back if you can prove its yours. But who can do that? As long as the shop/staff don't believe it's stolen they're not breaking the law

    Cash Generator Closing

I think these kinds of shops make it easy for burglars to quickly convert stolen goods into cash.

High-pitched racket in the high street

Twice I've walked through the high street and near McDonalds (it might even be coming from there) I can hear a high pitched whistling. It sounds like one of those things they attach to buildings to stop youths hanging around. I don't know why they'd still have this switched on during the day...

Meadowcroft Park roundabout repair - June 2012

There's quite a bit of information on here. There's a number on there you can text to sign up for updates; I've been getting a text every week or so. http://www.enterprise.plc.uk/landstone I don't think they'll be finished any time soon. Looks like they're working on a newly collapsed drain...

Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

I posted on the previous page about a taxi driver that was flashing his lights and honking his horn at me whilst I waiting for a box junction to become clear. I saw the same taxi at the taxi rank by Casa, I wonder if it's the same taxi driver that took you home?

Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

Driving down Queensway today, very busy. I got to the Riverway junction and waited for the box junction to become clear, then as I'm waiting the driver behind me started tooting his horn at me and flashing his lights. At the next box junction he did the same. Not only that but he left his lights...

Attempted armed robbery on Rickerscote Road - Police appeal.

Scary - drive past here twice a day, although not at the time of the incident. Not sure whether it's just me but it seems like a lot of crime going on, what with the robbery by Riverway and the recent posts about thefts of a caravan and bicycle. :(

£5,000 Reward for Information leading to the arrest of person(s) responsible for stealing my caravan

Do you have any photos of the interior that you have taken? I think the patterns on the wood would help people spot it. I think the photos you posted here are from a different caravan of the same model, otherwise this is your caravan...

Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

Ahhh, going down Moss Pit towards Stafford I was behind a cyclist. It's not a wide road and once you approach the bridge it's blind bends for about 100 yards. On top of that there was cars coming the other way so I held back. Then a woman behind me starts tooting her horn at me and gesturing me...

    Road Bikes?

In my view is someone has gone to the effort of buying an expensive bike and dresses like a power ranger then they're serious about cycling and probably serious about following the rules of the road. The cyclists I don't like are the ones that ride a cheap bike, have no lights and wear dark...

Meadowcroft Park roundabout repair - June 2012

Anyone know what's going on with the repairs? Its been about 18 months and there's still work going on, although most of the road has been restored... we used to have frequent letters but nothing for a while.

Help re homing pigeon landed in my garden

Why not get a bag of sunflower seeds, a plastic bowl and feed and water it. I had one visit my garden for a couple of years and it was almost like a pet to me, even had it eating out of my hand once. Once he knew I was going to feed it it was in the garden all the time but it left when it got dark.

Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

While driving from Cannock saw someone slow down and squirt water at a women with a kid. He did it to two other people as well that I saw. I let the police know the reg in case any of them decided to report it as a crime. I know it's just a bit of water but quite cowardly doing it to a woman and...

    Crap Towns Returns

I was about to suggest Walsall as well. Parking restrictions everywhere - if you want to nip into a shop you need to park at the top of a steep hill and pay 20p for 10 minutes parking even though the roads are plenty wide enough for parking bays. Of course, parking wardens circling the town like...

Stafford town centre shops - Bad shopping experience?

I feel a bit suspicious of these cash converting shops. Every time you hear about a burglary the things they take tend to be jewelery and small electronic goods like cameras, ipods, etc. And these are exactly the type of items that these shops will hand over cash for. They say they need ID but I...

    Carpark charge at wickes carpark

I got one of these letters claiming I owed money for parking. I didn't feel I owed it so I ignored them. One day almost 1 year after the alleged parking the parking company called me at home (even though I was ex-directory), spoke to someone else in my family telling them I owed them money. I...

Examples of poor driving you have witnessed!

Trying to park in Penkridge the only space that was left, someone else had parked over the line and was partly taking up a second space not leaving much room. I thought for a second about chancing it, decided I would and left about 3 inches of room between my car and his. It was either that or...

Paramedic fired over Stafford campaign Facebook comments

Personally I think he meant to say that he thinks she has put people in the awful situation of being ill and having to travel many miles to reach a hospital and she herself may be in that situation one day. I don't think he literally wished a horrible illness on her. It's a bit akin to reading...
