    Stafford Traffic.

I'm off in Far Western Europe and the roads are lovely. In fact, things got noticeably better once you made it to Wales.

Good luck with any 'discussions' with Taylor Wimpey. I attempted to 'discuss' the crazy state of the 'temporary' lights that appeared in 2017 and was basically told that it was none of my business and they'll do what they like.

Two minutes after arriving back from a three-week absence, I went to unlock the Shed and discovered that I was already late for my disciplinary hearing.

Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

I've been in Stafford for the last three weeks and have noticed, oddly, that people seem to be passing me, when I'm on the bike, with noticeably more space than was the case in the past. I wonder if I've just been lucky and they're merely trying to avoid potholes, rather than me.

    Price premium for even-numbered houses?

I worked with a strange bloke who wouldn't leave the house on any Friday the 13th. He would always book them off at the start of the year. His aim was to avoid even the risk of coming downstairs at such a dangerous time. He would arrange supplies, flasks and food, to be available in the bedroom...

Many years ago, I noticed there was no No. 13 in Winchester Court in Wildwood.

    Chartley Moss.

The Wildlife Trust had a new reserve near Talke Pits in the 90s and had found a very early map showing a pond there. There was no sign of the pond still existing at the time, or on any subsequent maps. Having had a good look round they felt there was no sign of a pond, or even the remains...

Mundane facts about your day: Part Deux.

I can (just) remember standing on a weighbridge, with luggage, and people getting off until a plausible total payload weight was reached, that would make the flight stand a decent chance of getting to the next airfield. Nowadays, volume is more of an issue than weight.

And also Loynton Moss, across the canal, south of Woodseaves. With all this talk elsewhere of pacemakers, I should mention that the presenter in the Chartley video above is Chris Brasher, surely one of the most famous of pacemakers, without whom we might remember a different name, other than...

Talk to me about solar panels.

Octopus inherited me when Bulb went bust. They struggle with my odd usage pattern, but they do cope with it better than Bulb did. In reality, they cause me no actual grief, beyond the odd email wondering if I'm dead.

Most alloys will be OK, but the odd one can just disintegrate fairly quickly. If you have the time, hang a bit in the water for a while and see what happens. I remember a chap once making some nice garden furniture from angle that he found in the skip - looked great, but fell to pieces in weeks.
