i'm not sure what the problem is.. try taking a breath before posting, and putting punctuation in!

make sure you go into your itunes settings and turn off anything that says "let itunes organise my music collection".. as long as your mp3s are properly tagged (which, by the sounds of things, they are) then itunes should automatically pick up all the metadata and organise them accordingly, but without changing your file structure/etc..

of course, if you've already allowed itunes to reorganise everything, then i doubt you can undo it easily..

im not sure whats wrong with my punctuation but thanks for the fast reply. i did turn off the setting "let itunes organise mymy music". my mp3s arent properly tagged i couldnt find a freeware program that was suitable. my songs are sorted in folders. and i tunes hasnt touched the file system. i suppose the only way forward would be to change the metadata do you know of a id3 batch renamer ( freeware)

Mp3tag is what you're after. It can batch convert filenames to tags, or vice versa, amongst other things! :)

oh swearing sorry. thanks for the link and help
I don't think it was the swearing (I'll let you off with "pissin" ;) ). I think it was more the lack of paragraphs! It's hard to read text when it's just a large block on-screen.

Good luck with Mp3tag, I'm sure you will find it very useful :)
