Could be a list worth maintaining - as soon as a pub hits £3.34 it's all over.

And no doubt enough change for chips and the bus fare home...
Why would I want to get the bus home I lived opposite the pub?

You could certainly do some serious damage with a fiver.

Frankly I'd rather that higher prices keep the dickheads away, than go to a place full of people getting as much cheap booze down their necks as possible.

Not all dickheads are poor.

Just an hour crawl then, convenient! I used to live opposite a pub too - got home in 45 minutes once!

Some of us remember 4 pints for a pound.
Well, it does remember me when I did work experience at Heineken in Zoeterwoude.
Each bottle was 25 cents (before the Euro!). About 17 pence at that time...
Only minor point, all had to be drunk within the factory grounds.... Hic!!
Enough said.... We staggered home!

Last time I went down there for the wrestling event, they didn't have any real ales on, sadly. They had a chilled, electric pump Old Speckled Hen on, and bottles of Man's Best Bitter. Being a Sports & Social Club it would probably be a bad move to have cask ales on, as you've got no guarantee that you're going to shift it all before it goes off.

I opted for a series of Bloody Marys, which I then had to teach two bar staff how to make. This is the fourth time I've had to do this in different places in the last two years. Does no one drink it anymore?

Often a struggle but managed it most times. Slept in the stairwell occasionally when I couldn't face the stairs and the lift was broken
