I'm a Staffooooooordian
My eye was caught by the shiny ads for the £50 device on pay-as-you-go. Does anyone know if it is any good and how much you have to top-up to keep the Skype function going?

yup got one. using it now in fact. its plugged into the laptop and conveying this very message.

you have to top up a tenner a month to keep the skype active.

not a bad little phone, but i've found that the skype functionality is flakey.

and if you install the modem drivers on your pc, they're screw up any other dialers you have.

It connected fine for a few days, now it only connects about half the time. but as nobody talks to me anyway, its not important to me. I only wanted it for the data transfer.

Another warning: You can run facebook though the built in browser. This means a lot of time is wasted.

Pity the forum won't load on it. But I have the laptop for that.

It appears WAP-ized and is therefor unusable. Sadly, the laws of physics don't allow me to provide you with a photo of this, as the only digitaal camera i currently have working is on the phone itself, and i'm too idea to rig up the necessary complex mirror arrangement needed for the phone to photograph itself.

Looking at the page source, there is no seperate stylesheet set up for mobile devices. That will be down to the forum, not the way its set up I'm guessing. There may be one available for it, I'll try to have a look when I can.

Basically, the world dominating machine that is google tries to translate it for mobile devices and fails.

You'd need to strip a hell of a lot off the pages to make them work on all mobile devices (christ, that was one of the things i was ordered to do for TWM many years ago).

To be honest, its not worth it.
