I use yeggi

www.yeggi.com

searches most sites from one location.

But agreed , can be slow on Thingiverse , ive learnt to be selective on what files i do get from there .

My daughter wanted a vase to match the decor of her room.

No problem i said , hold my beer..

( well , coffee , i dont drink )

This was printed in a silky filament so the light reflects at different angles.

You’ll like Octoprint I think. Combined with Octolapse you can get a timelapse where it takes a photo at the end of every layer, but always moved the build plate over to the same location each time. End result is you basically see it grow in one place, pretty neat

I've got a raspberry pi 3B+ that runs my printer through octoprint already.
Theres been a few people having octolapse running that have had blob issues with the print afterwards so I gave it a miss. I may trial it on a few prototype prints to see if I get the same issues though.
Octoprint is great for managing and monitoring my printer from my mobile whilst I'm not at home and using a raspberry pi to control it all leaves my pc and server for other uses .

Today i'll be making various clips, cable brackets , tv remote holder and a wall mount for the echo dot v3 for the summerhouse :)

Already done some cable management clips for the cables behind the tv unit in the living room, it was like a rats nest behind there before.

That reminds me, I really need to make a mount for the Anker 5-port charger we keep behind the sofa. Inexplicably it doesn’t come with one and I don’t like using adhesives on the wall - just ends up taking paint off when it falls off.

I recall someone mentioning cura has problems with tablets such as iPad , not too sure about the octoprint interface though. Linux isn't my forte.

Today i made a 3d printed lithophane of my fur baby who i lost earlier this year.

its a thin sheet of plastic , but you can see the image when you shine light on it.

i'm using a blue light in this pic but if using a normal white light then it would resemble a black and white image.

miss my mate , but this makes me smile.
