We have that one - probably branded differently. It's good but quite noisy.

yes i had read that it could be noisy .
There are damper kits available that stop the noise now and quite cheap to buy.
...was also looking at replacing the base with a glass one too whilst building it.

Any issues with yours @Lucy ? , ive heard its good providing you set up correctly and make sure the base is leveled .

I don't ever use it - it's another toy gathering dust in the OHs study, but he's done some good stuff on it. He puts hairspray on the plate to stop the plastic sticking, and he cut a mirror down to lay over the base.

would love to see some of his creations if hes photographed anything .
.... as for the glass mirror , i think i'll stick to buying a pre made one ...for my safety :emo: :P

I have the Creality CR-10S, works pretty well but yeah they’re damn noisy. You can make them sing if you really want to, stepper motors are interesting little things

Mine also collects dust unfortunately.

ive just changed the motherboard on mine , the one it came with had no bootloader so i couldnt update the firmware. the new motherboard has the latest firmware and bootloader installed and makes the stepper motors silent now.
should work on your CR10 S too ;)

Please don't get me wrong, but that looks to me like a very expensive way of getting a small plastic lion ornament.
Has anyone found a genuine use for one of these in the home.
I could perhaps see a small business opportunity knocking out personalised gifts etc.
Not having a go, just genuinely curious.

The OH tends to 3D print things for his home automation project. Face plates to all the temperature sensors and this week a holder for the oil tank sensor.

I’ve printed a lot of custom brackets this month, and in the past all sorts: ant-weight combat robot shells, a riser for the wife’s night stand to level one of the legs, etc

I quite like the song it songs, and it’s at the office anyway so noise isn’t really a bother :xd:

Oh yes, Theres thousands of uses.

Tap in what you need on this site and usually someone has already made it .

www.thingiverse.com

If its not there , then you could always design your own using something like Fusion 360.

Those trinkets i made was more for fine tuning my machine using a standard cheap PLA , Ive ordered some PLA+ and also PETG for some outside projects that require stronger and more weather resistant properties.

I really wish there was a better site than Thingiverse though. It’s dog slow, and has such poor curation and no requirements to provide info on settings, etc

MyMiniFactory is a little better but the library is tiny by comparison
