9.5 mm projector required.

Does anybody happen to have access to a 9.5mm cine projector? I've discovered an old film in a shed and it would be nice to see what it is. It has the look of a professional production.

9.5 mm film was a largely continental standard with central sprocket holes and the projectors were probably quite rare round here even in the old days.

I've done a bit of investigating about the potential costs involved. Jessops would come out at about twice the cost of having it done through Peter Rogers - and County Cameras don't really do moving stuff at all.

Oh, and the lad in Jessops didn't really believe me about the format, but had the decency to humour me and ring somebody that did know what I was talking about.

Cine projector for sale in the charity shop on the corner of Mill Street and Main - not in working order, as proclaimed proudly on the box, but not i would suspect a problem to your good self.

Very unlikely to be of the specifications above, but who knows what could be achieved with the will to make it so?

I have a Swiss Army knife if you are in need of assistance...

Do they still have the film club at the Gatehouse?

I bet someone involved in that would know of someone with such an item.

Out of curiosity I looked it up on wiki, http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/9.5_mm_film , it would be a pathe format.

British pathe site http://www.britishpathe.com/ , you could contact them to see if there is anyone local, I wonder if the county archives have one (William Salt).

A quick search came up with a small format film forum, but 9.5mm wasn't their specialism (8mm & 16mm are)I'm not sure if it's right to post links to other forums, but if you haven't already I'd try there for help.
